Busted, plus a freebie!

One day not so long ago, I was sitting at my computer in the office typing away when my dog Sophie came up to me and rested her nose on my leg. It left a wet mark on my pants. I was surprised and thought she might be thirsty. I turned to get up out of my chair, and that’s when I saw it.

Sophie’s normally snow white paws were rusty brown. Sophie’s face was rusty brown. Thoughts raced through my mind. I had been in the garage earlier; suddenly, I panicked. Could I have left the garage door open? Could Sophie have gotten into something in the garage? I jumped up out of my chair to go investigate, but I didn’t get far. There, right in front of me was the answer. Sophie had not, in fact, gotten into anything in the garage. No, there on the carpet was a tube of Andy’s oil paint; brown, rusty colored oil paint, twisted and gnarled with the bite marks of an almost 2 year old collie dog. The tube was of course lying in a similarly rusty brown colored spot smeared into my ivory colored carpet.

I picked Sophie up and carried her into the bathroom to put her into the bathtub.  Not surprisingly, paint could be found on her chest, in her nose, and on her teeth; oil paint, mind you, so washing it out of Sophie’s gorgeous white hair wasn’t easy. And, try as I might, that rusty brown stain on my carpet is still there today.

Was I mad at Sophie? No, of course not. I did my best to clean up the mess, but not before I snapped a few photos to email to my Mom, Mother in Law, and husband. “Look what Sophie did,” I typed. “I’m a BAD dog-mommy!” Lol.

Of course when Karen of Snickerdoodle Designs sent out her newest collab with Kimberkatt, Busted, I couldn’t resist scrapping this endearing dog moment. Off the top of my head, I know that I have at least two more sets of photos to scrap with this collection too. As Karen puts it, if you’ve got ‘uh-oh’ and ‘I didn’t do it’ photos, then Busted is the kit for you!

Here is the layout I created using Busted to tell my Sophie story

If you love Busted as much as I do, you can find it now in Snickerdoodle Designs’ shop here at theStudio for 57% off. You’ll also find the page kit, solids, stackers, alpha, clusters, and glitters at 30% off.

As always, I’ve put together a little freebie for you. Just click on the preview below to download. You can also find a second freebie, and read about the inspiration behind Busted on Karen’s blog (great story – not one to miss!). Enjoy, and have a great week!

Oh, Jen! I’m so sorry about your carpet! But you are a GOOD dog-mommy! You got a picture before you cleaned up the mess (as best you could!) Thanks for the great story, the wonderful layout, and the darling cluster!
