Welcome to Wow Me Wednesday!

Every Wednesday I’ll be here to share something that made me say “WOW”.  It may be a cool tip or trick to “wow” your photos, it might be a hybrid project, or it might just be some crazy something I run across in my escapades on the web. I hope you’ll join me; try some of these out and let us know what you think.

This week, Claudette, one of Boo’s Blossoms shared these very cool Mini Albums she makes to carry around in her purse. My mom still wags her huge 12X12 book I made for her 5 years ago, but she’ll be getting one of these very soon.

Supplies you’ll need

  •  Your computer and your scrap booking program
  • Printer
  • 2X3 Clear I.D. Badge Sleeves
  • Photos
  • IMAGINATION
  • Ribbon or wire ring to hold them together

There is nothing tricky about this at all. Fire up your preferred scrap booking software, pick one kit for a theme or mix and match if you like.
Create your page at 2.5 inches X 3.25 inches
Resolution 300

Embellish it to your hearts desire.

Here is another she made with Boo’s New Release Parfum Jardin

Save each layout as a .jpg file

You’ll need 9 pages to do this the most economical way. Sounds like a lot but you’re really looking for nice pictures and a date or sweet title on these pages. Save the big time journaling for those 12 X 12 pages.
Create a new document
8.5 inches X 11 inches
Resolution 300

Open each page in the new document (or just drag and drop if you have that capability). Here is a shot of my pre-print document.

Un check the Scale to Media option

Print and Cut to fit in the I.D. Badges.

Use Ribbon, rope, split rings, book binding rings or anything else you can think of to attach them together and “WA LA” you have an instant Mini to show off your most recent photos! I’m telling you, these would make such cool gifts and they’re so inexpensive that you could keep grandma and grandpa in pictures all year long.

There are so many ideas going through my head on how to use these “mini” photos. I’m thinking these little layouts would make great tags for gifts, or you might want to wrap one in the ribbon on a gift. Whatever you decide to do, we’d love to have you show it off so be sure to post your Mini Pages in your gallery.

Great idea, Rebecca! I can see a lot of these being given as Valentine’s or Mother’s day gifts too.

Oh Yes Karen! Of course, those would both be perfect for these! Thanks for an idea I can get started on quickly.

Awe, cool! Thanks for sharing my idea!
I have printed a ton of these and whenever someone has a new baby I snag the photos off facebook or take some myself, then whip up a quick album for the new moma to show off her bundle with. My 12 year old daughter loves to take hers to school with all her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews in it, and all her pets…lol
