Last week I showed you some great “all the time” bargains by BooLand Designs. Her One Page Wonders are a real steal at $1.97 all the time.  This week I have great step-by-step tutorial by Mary John using one of those One Page Wonders to make a quick and easy double page for a photo book.  I have to tell you that Mary John is a master at photo books.  She recently completed a 121 page book.  It is amazing!  I have wanted to do this for a very long time but it seems such a daunting task.  The thing is, once I saw it I wanted to really go for it.

Mary John makes it look and sound so simple.  You know what happened right?  I went groveling again for a tutorial and…… not only did she do the tut but she graciously offered up one of her own templates.  The girl is amazing!  Check out these photos and then download the template and let me share with you what she shared with me.

For this tutorial Mary John used Boo’s One Page Wonder #20.  It won’t be in the store until next week but you can have a sneak peek and you can always come back and do the step by step.
You’ll need the Double Page Template.  It’s free and it’s fabulous!  Get it right here.
Here is the final page.  Gorgeous … yes?

Fire up Photoshop or your preferred scrapping software.  Open your double page template.
Remove the layer “Delete” so you’ll only have 3 layers in your layer palette.
Select the Background layer.

Open bld_onepagewonders_#20_paper (2) and drag this all the way to the right.
Duplicate this layer )CTRL + J) and turn it horizontal.  Drag it all the way to the left and merge the two layers.
Activate the layer “Small Picture”.  Open your photo and clip it to this layer. Add a soft shadow to your photo.  It’s a good idea to add your shadows to each layer as you go so I won’t repeat that after each step but don’t skip it.

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (19)”
Resize this to about 2100 pixels width
Place this on top of the “Small Picture”

Make sure it fits snug around your photo and add your drop shadow.

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (11)”
Turn it horizontal and then stand it up straight.
Resize this to about 1500 pixels width
And drag it to the right upper side of the “Small Photo”

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (12)”
Turn it vertical and drag so it to the lower right corner of “Small Picture”
Resize it to about 1144 pixels wide

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (2)”
Turn it a little more then 90 degrees to the right
Resize it to about 1350 pixels width
Now place this one on top of the 2 elements you already have placed
Push it up high to give some dimension.

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (3)”
Turn it 180 degrees to the left
Resize it to about 2040 pixels width
Place this one across the bottom of your picture

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (16)”
Resize it to about 900 pixels width
Place this one in the middle of your lovely cluster
Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (5)”
Resize it to about 760 pixels width
Place this one at the bottom of “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (16)”

So this was the right side of the “Double Page”
Let’s move over to the left page
Activate the layer “Large Picture”
Now replace the “White Area” with your picture

Go to the layer below your “Layer Palette”

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (18)”
Turn it a little more than 90 degrees to the right
Resize is to about 1980 pixels width

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (4)”
Resize it to about 2130 pixels width
And place it on top of the bow, you only see the flowers

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (9)”
Turn it a little more then 190 degrees to the right
Resize it to about 1355 pixels width
And place it on top of the flowers

Now activate your layer “Large Photo” in your layer palette
Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (16)”
Resize it to about 635 pixels width
Place this on the of the cluster and just a little on your picture

Open “bld_onepagewonders_#20_element (21)”
Resize it to about 730 pixels width
Place this on the right of the “Large Photo”

Merge, save, and you’re ready to print.  But wait!  You can turn this template 45 degrees and do a whole new page.  You’ll have that album ready to print in no time.

I love Mary John’s tutorials.  I LOVE that tomorrow is the official “Love” day,  and I love that there is a “sweet” sale going on right now at the Studio.  It’s the perfect opportunity to get something special for yourself.  If you like this page, you’ll want to check out the new Bundled One Page Wonder Sets.  Each set includes 5 One Page Wonders and a FREE quick page and cluster.  Sa Weeet!

Happy Heart Day!
