WMW Some Vintage Tools and an idea for Father’s Day

in Commercial Use,Deals & Offers Pin this scrappy stuff!

My mother raised 7 girls.  She gave birth to three of us and the other 4 were bonus children.  SEVEN girls!  Some of us turned out to be girly girls but some of us turned out well…not so much.  About 20 years ago mom called to take Christmas requests.   I happened to be in the middle of some kind of maintenance work and my answer was immediate.  “Mom, what I would really love to have is an electric drill.”  That year my sister and I both got electric drills for Christmas.  Mom said the guy at the store thought she was kidding when she told him she was buying them for her girls and not her boys.  When my husband and I got married, I came with my electric drill, air compressor, router and a fully stocked tool box.  I love my tools and it isn’t uncommon for a heated discussion to erupt over who gets to use which tool first.

My guy has all these cool tools and yet he will do it the hardest way possible every single time.  As I was browsing the store on Memorial Day I ran across some tools that made me think of him.  I couldn’t help but laugh at the fact that he actually has some tools this old AND he still uses them.  With Father’s Day coming up and the cameras coming out, I can certainly see where some of these might come in handy on some pages or projects.  eqrAveziur has 3 sets of vintage tools and Linda Cumberland has a fun set called Potpourri Vol. 3.  I couldn’t resist!  I got them all.  I’m in tool mode and feel some fun pages coming.  These will fit perfectly on those boy pages or maybe even one for my sister. {wink} Take a look and see if you don’t think of your grandfather.

I was looking at these tools and thinking about Father’s Day and I whipped out something fun.  My guy is getting a T-shirt in his good – guy bag this year.  There are several sites that offer coffee mugs and T-shirts so put your thinking cap on.  You’ve go plenty of time to come up with something and still have it arrive on time.  I’m thrilled to be able to give him something that incorporates what I love {scrapbooking} and what he loves {tractors}.  Check out my T-shirt graphic.  If it sparks an idea you’ll want to click those links up there so you can get your own set of tools while they’re all on sale for 25% off.

I get it that it’s not for EVERY guy but it’s perfect for mine.  What’s your guy getting for Father’s Day?

Oh Rebecca!! This sure brought back many wonderful memories!!! My sweet hubby was a tool and die maker, born in 1928 in Berlin, Germany, so, YES, I recognize all those old vintage tools!! I have since passed them on to my sons and know they will stay in the family for generations to come!!
