Custom Collection Sunday

It’s time for Custom Collection Sundays.  Yay!  We’ve got a fabulous  new release and a new request has been chosen.  Ready?  Let’s dig in!

What is a Custom Collection Sundays? It is a chance for each of you to request a Custom Collection from one of our Designers. Every week one person wins their request.

On September 28 Rebecca won her request for a realistic Scottish collection by Vero – The French Touch:

This is a second request… I’d love a realistic Scottish collection, something that looks like a visit, and nothing bright or cutesy. I was thinking of soft colors, deep earthy ones and gentle lighter ones. Maybe weathered earth textures, stone, scenic papers, and textile textures like a subtle woven plaid, tweeds, heathered aran knits with cables… I thought elements could include things Celtic/Scottish, definitely including heather and thistle. It seems like it would need several pieces of metal; fixtures, jewelry, weapons… Oh, and tea and scones, maybe?

This week we have Beyond The Kilt:

This week I am back to picking a new Custom Collections Sunday winner! I very much appreciated the slightly less specific requests.  It is easier to get those completed than once with complex, specific elements. Continue to ask me something fun! Ask me something in your favorite color! Or favorite colors! Request flowers, winter or love, and let’s see who I can make happy next. And go ahead & try with something a little more specific. I know there were some great ideas out there that can be fulfilled! Give it another go?

Some of my favorite requests this week:

What a beautiful kit!
I would like to put in a new request. I’m thinking ahead a few months to Valentine’s Day, that special time between lovers. So, my request is a sweet but passionate kind of kit with pinks and reds and purples.
Thank you,

Hugs,
Joyce

I love Japanese art forms and I would love to see a kit based on some these such as Embroidery, Kimono patterns, and porcelain ware. I would like to have the kit include some prints of the more modern Ukiyo-e paintings, particularly those by Hiroshige and Hokusai. Elements such as beautiful chopsticks, lacquerware pieces and such would be lovely as well, as would the traditional cherry blossoms, Buddahs and dragons. The kit could be done in the traditional Japanese colors. Here’s a link for more info on those (there are many other resources too :) ).

from: Elaina

I’d like to see a black/grey/white kit with just one accent color (various shades of that color) – glamorous with a touch of silver glitter. I see this as being formal/traditional rather than quirky and fun.

from: Robyn

Sadly, I can only pick one winner. Our winner this week is: Gloria!

I would like to see a kit which could be used for vintage memories, heretige, etc. There are not very many with colors which catch your attention and not just brown and tan. I would like to see something with parchment, teal and burgundy – vintage but pleasing to the eye.

from: Gloria

Gloria, Patty, PattyB Scraps, is already hard at work on your request!
Very important note: I will post a new winner every week, however, please do not expect your Custom Collection to be ready within a week.  Scrapbooking Collections take time, and that time varies by Designer.  Some of our team are full-time designers, others are part-time. Some are new mommies with littles at home, and others are Grandmothers.  Some of us are both.

I cannot wait to see the requests this week, please post away your biggest wishes in the comments below. Comments are open to everyone. New comments, and repeat comments are welcome. I will post a new winner next week, along with a new release & a sneak peek!

It’s time for Custom Collection Sundays.  My sincere apologies for last week.  The holidays overwhelm me.  Both with happiness and harried-ness! But! We have some fabulous kits pouring out thanks to your requests. Wooooooohooooooo!

What is a Custom Collection Sundays? It is a chance for each of you to request a Custom Collection from one of our Designers. Every week one person wins their request.

On September 28 Gail Wilde won her request for a POSITIVE collection specifically for people with disabilities by Nibbles Skribbles and me:

I have not seen a realistic, POSITIVE kit about the many ways those of us who are disabled strive to stay physically -and- mentally fit. I’m not just talking about the Para-Olympics, but other things as well. My right foot has painful problems that make it very hard to walk. (My body doesn’t tolerate pain meds) Two small strokes made me a bit disoriented. Under my desk is a little pedal/cycle machine that I’m using right now- a gift from my daughter and son-in-law. Next to my apartment are the winding lobby stairs, and I walk down and back up those stairs at least once a day. Also, at the urging of my neurologist, I do puzzles, sudoku, etc., read a lot of ebooks (so many free ebooks are available), and of course, digital scrapbooking, genealogy, and more. Most of us know at least one person who is disabled, and it would be interesting to see how others cope, also.

Sadly it’s not time for my favorite part of every week… picking a new Custom Collections Sunday winner! I need some more comments to choose from, and, honestly, I need some slightly less specific requests as well. A kit on only wrestling, for example, is turning out to be too difficult a request.  So ask me something fun! Ask me something in your favorite color!  Or favorite colors! Request flowers, winter or love, and let’s see who I can make happy next.  And go ahead & try with something a little more specific.  I know there were some great ideas out there that can be fulfilled!  Give it another go?

Custom Collection Sunday

It’s time for Custom Collection Sundays… on a Tuesday! I think I am going to have to accept that I will be off schedule the rest of the year. The holidays are jam-packed.  Please forgive me, and please continue to play along.  We have some fabulous kits pouring out thanks to your requests.  Wooooooohooooooo!

What is a Custom Collection Sundays? It is a chance for each of you to request a Custom Collection from one of our Designers. Every week one person wins their request.

On October 27; Carol requested:

I would be over the moon for something relating to the movie “Frozen”. My 6-yr old granddaughter loves Elsa and Anna along with everything else in “Frozen”, as well as all of her friends and family (kids and adults). She is also in a singing and dancing class that are now practicing for their recital based upon the movie “Frozen”. My little Catherine also wants her December birthday party a “Frozen” birthday party and wants me to make her invitation cards to send out–of course they have to be “Frozen” related. Catherine would never want to go home if a “Frozen” kit were on my computer. She loves playing with some of my digital scrapbook kits which I love seeing her interest at her young age. She would be so excited to sit next to me as we designed her invitation cards.

Jamie,  The Kit Cart, as finished the gorgeous Elsa-inspired Winter Story:

Now, it’s time for my favorite part of every week… picking a new Custom Collections Sunday winner!  I had quite a few fabulous request to choose from:

Hoping for a kit that matches any of the activities my grandchildren participate in – tap dance, cross country, wrestling, cello, karate, or crew. I know these aren’t the most popular activities and that’s why there aren’t any kits for them.
There must be other children who do unusual sports and activities. I wonder if it would be possible to have a kit that had one or two elements for lots of the “odd” activities?

from: Nancy Holland

Hi, I have a kit request I would love to have. I have never seen one exactly like I need.
A Seafood kit. Not beach or fishing but restaurants. seafood dishes, scrimp cooked different ways. crab legs, crabs, lobster, cooked fish, oysters, eating utensils, lobster bibs, tables and chairs you would find in a seafood restaurant. maybe a scrimp boat, seafood shack.Warf you would find along beside a seafood shack. seafood menus. mats or journal cards with seafood items on them. wooden signs, Catch of the day sign.
Thanks for the chance at this.

from: Faye

And the winner this week…. Lois!

Vero, The French Touch, is already hard at work on your wonderful request!

And a little note on requests.  Some of the very specific ones are difficult to complete. Like with the Winter Story Kit, we do not have the license to recreate an exact Elsa, or Olaf.  The same restrictions count for many of your wishes.  We will do our best to match a collection inspired by your love of Elsa, old cars or Red Lobster but please understand our limitations.

On October 19 Rae won her request:

I would love to see a Autumn Rustic/Country Wedding Theme…. The colors are gorgeous and tying it in with items like burlap and lace and autumn flowers ( or autumn colors) would be gorgeous. You don’t see many kits with this theme and with my daughter and a few friends getting married with this theme… I would love to do some pages for them and create a memory book for them :)

from: Rae Lynn Simpson

Min, Carin Grobe Design, is ready to release her collection & has a sneak peek for us today. I’m getting so excited to see the whole collection!
