In the midst of graduations, summer weddings, and for many the long awaited for, last day of school is… Father’s Day.  For all, June seems to be filling with more and more activities and deadlines.  It definitely makes it harder to squeeze everything in and give everything the attention it deserves.  No doubt Father’s Day can easily get pushed to a back burner but it doesn’t have to be that way.  This year can be different.  This year will be different for some.  This year could be the year you begin to document some photos to back up those stories that you’ve heard a thousand times.  We call those “fish tales” in our house because it seems the details get a little bigger every time we hear the story.

Chances are, you already have some great pages made with your best photos.  If you don’t, there is still time.  Now is definitely the time to take advantage of some quick scrapping with templates or perhaps a ready made brag book.  I did a search for Father and found some amazing kits and collections perfect for scrapping any guy.

The Gallery is filled with awesome inspiration too.

I love this page by foxinsocks  It’s made with Scrap it Simple #9 by Linda Cumberland Designs.

Here is a more vintage style page by patriciabb.  Perfect for documenting the older memories.  This one is made with the Days Gone By Collection by The Urban Fairy and Aimee Harrison Designs.

Need a jumpstart?  Using a template will help speed things along.  You’ll reach your goal much faster and you still have the flexibility to customize your pages.  Visit the Quick & Easy section of the store to find a varitey of tools to help you with your project.

A-Manda Creation has all of her Brag Books on sale for 30% off.

Jilbert has Photo Pockets and Photo Pocket Bundles to that make amazing story boards.

There are also several Quick Page Packs suited perfectly for the man in your life.

Whatever you decide, today should probably be the day.  Most photo and photo book printing companies can still get your pages or books to you in time.  I’ve had great success with Persnickety Prints and Shutterfly (who, by the way is having a 50% off sale).

Be sure to post your pages in the gallery too.  Someone else might really need YOUR creative inspiration to get them started.

I’m going to admit that I know very little about hybrid.  What I do know is that it is a wonderful way to combine digital scrapbooking with hands-on (read glue!) crafts.  I first started digital scrapbooking because, like so many of you, I had little kids that could destroy a paper stash faster than I could blink.  But how I miss the glue.

I realize that can be read as a fetish to use glue improperly, and, in a way, I do use it improperly, but it’s not that kind of improper.  I just love glueing.  I love to glue with a lot of glue.  I love to get my fingers sticky.  I love to have it dry & then roll it off in little pieces.  I like making things stick together.

During our 4th-year birthday bash in September we had some amazing scrappers join in our Hybrid Artist competition.  Three of those have joined our CT team to form the all-new Hybrid CT.  They are already busy printing, glueing and creating away.  I’m in awe at their creations and I’m beyond excited at making some of these crafts myself with Tess.  I think at 10 Tess can finally be trusted to touch my paper stash again.

I’ve got a couple of amazing projects to show you, but I’m going to start with a simple one.  One that I think I could do myself.  Not that I was brave enough to try this myself, all the credit here goes to our Hybrid Designer Boop, and our Hybrid CT Crystal (digitalscrapfun).  I absolutely love how Crystal took two of Boops’ templates, our October Mega Kit: Farmers Market and made one awesome hostess gift I would love to receive!

Crystal used Boop’s Popcorn Wrapper Template:

To create a very fun, personalized, hostess gift:

Crystal then used Boops Wide Handle Bag Template:

And add that little extra to make the gift truly special:
