Hello all!

Ready for some Christmas fun? This one is for all of you Christmas bugs out there. I want to see your trees! Your real life trees. I loooooove Christmas trees and I want to see how you deck yours out.

What do you get? I went shopping and bought a couple of German, wooden, Christmas ornaments & a matching string of soft Christmas trees (perfect for any cats out there to bat around on the lower branches). And, because it's very traditional in my part of germany, a little marzipan piggy.

*please note: my little trees are not included

Must be in standard LO format (600X600)
Post in the Scrap your Tree gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/g1353-scrap-your-tree-21.html) by December 24th

Prize will be sent via snail mail
1 winner, chosen by me
Have fun & good luck!

Ooooooooo! This looks fun Toiny. My tree is still hiding in the cellar but soon, I will brave the dark scary space to find it, or....... I might just get Elly to get it ;)

Oh man I really have to get the tree out quicker now. I was going to wait until the week before Christmas because of the 2 year old, but what's another week of constant keeping him out?

12-10-2011, 05:03 PM
Sounds like a fun challenge. I thought you meant an outdoor tree and I don't have one, but I can do my indoor one! I love yours!

12-10-2011, 06:12 PM
ohhhhhh Pam, that tree is gorgeous and I love your tradition of giving the kids those decs on their 18th birthday. What a lovely idea. I might start doing that with my new grandkids

Does it have to be this year's tree? We don't decorate until the day before and at my father in law's... but I do have a nice tale about last year's...

12-11-2011, 07:38 AM
A different year tree & the story that goes with it would be awesome! I'm a huge journaling fan and I love to read the stories that go with the LO's. So absolutely, yes please.

I Live in Apt so my tree is small but pretty! Will get the picture and do this!

I was just taking pictures of my daughter in front of the tree this morning. She was having fun doing ballerina poses. Will have to get one of just the tree now.

Well, I cheated - this isn't my tree (wish it was!! - does that count? <VBG>), but it was so pretty, I had to share. It's OK if I don't get "credit" for this challenge:

OH! Christmas Tree
This layout tells the story of Christmas Trees seventy years ago. The text can be read on my blog: pssequimages.blogspot.com. The tree lights photo I used for the background are contemporary because I have no photos of the trees of my DH's youth, or of the Christmas Tree sales lot in San Bernardino whose story is told here.

Rats. I can't find not one picture of my tree on the computer and we haven't put ours up yet. Can it be one we took out visiting?

12-12-2011, 12:27 AM
ok here is mine. Thanks for a fun challenge!

Yes it counts! In the rules I included "Your neighbors". I know some people don't have trees or put them up Christmas Eve... and may be too tired to scrap them LOL.

This is a very flexible challenge.

One of several trees I decorated this year. This one is outdoors, and the weather is forecast stormy, so no fragile ornaments.

I love putting up Christmas trees. So far this year I've put up about 30. But this one is mine. lol. The others don't count. http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/data/1353/Scrap-your-tree.jpghttp://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/scrap-your-tree-21/p88621-scrap-your-tree.html

Each year since we’ve been married in 1968 I have bought one Hallmark ornament, and once the children and now grandchildren are born, each one also gets an ornament. As the boys grew up and moved to their own homes, their ornaments moved with them. Each is chosen to represent something they have done, or the work they do or something they really liked during the year. The grandchildren now take theirs home as well. That meant I lost 2/3 of the ornaments I had. But never fear, I bought more. LOL. I started buying one for hubby and one for me as well as one for the house. Now I have too many to put on the tree which is now smaller than before. I also have collected one ornament from every country I have visited, sometimes more than one if I went to different cities in each country. As of now, they come from Germany, the Netherlands, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, most of the US states, including Hawaii and the Republic of Kiribati in the Pacific. The tree is getting full again

From our home to yours- Bill and I wish you the very best. Super challenge. I used Father Christmas -the collection (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=315_316&products_id=9841), and our tree is big....it's the only place it fits in the house. ...because Bill saw it at Loew's a top a big platform and that store has high ceilings.

So here's the tree from last year.

The story behind my hubbie's trip out in knee deep snow is that my father in law is a time optimist and thought that trees were to be had every day until Christmas, but that was SO not the case... :P But this year he has already bought it. :)

Thank you for a fun challenge! :)

OK, my son and I put up our small tree. Before my son was born in 2006 I had a 6 foot tall tree for the living room and this 3 foot one was one I either took to work or set up in the computer room. My family has always bought us kids ornaments since I was a kid. However, the first time I bought a real tree one of my darling kitties decided she really liked to climb that tree and all my fragile glass ornaments were smashed. Only my aunt is still around (she is 71) and she continues the tradition of the Hallmark ornaments. She is even doing it now that she has great grandkids. Every year for the past dozen years or so I've been part of an ornament exchange group so I have handmade ornaments from all over the world. This tree only shows ornaments received as gifts or I made in the past three years. My son even made me two new ornaments Wednesday. He recycled some beads that I took off a sweater and made me two small wreaths made with green bugle beads and sequins. Just what my husband needs another crafter.

I love all the trees! We still have to get ours up, but I'm hoping later today. I love the idea of getting one in my office.

I got an e-mail stating that my layout was deleted. Not sure why so I had to repost it. Unfortunately, I don't have all the credit info on my layout other that it is 100% the Studio. Used 'Reindeer Games' and 'Advent' freebies. Thanks.

Here's our tree this year, we went up north to a tree farm and picked out and chopped down our own! My husband has done this many times growing up, but this was a first for me!

I love all the journaling. I love reading your stories and memories. Keep it up!

12-20-2011, 12:56 PM
What a great challenge - thanks for this, otherwise I probably would have never scrapped our tree.

So many lovely pages and touching stories, it was such a nice feeling going through this thread and admiring everyone's layouts!

Here is mine. We have an artificial tree and we put it up in the loggia (closed balcony) because there we can close the door and DS cannot get in there to make it "kaputt" ;) In the evening we light it up (the lights are in different colors too) and watch it from our living room, it's very nice.
