"go 'round & 'round...."

Welcome to my School Bus Challenge, and to our Back To School Event!! I'd love for you to join me in this fun Template challenge, I can't wait to see what you all do with your layouts!

I have made this groovy School Bus double page template, ready for you to fill with papers, elements, photos... let your creativity run wild 8D

http://i716.photobucket.com/albums/ww166/digi_licious/digilicious_bustemplate_prev600-1.jpg (http://www.digilicious-designs.com/freebies/digilicious_bustemplate.zip)

The rules are simple...

1. Use both pages of the template. Please post 3 images for us - the left side, the right side, and the double page together. I'd love to admire your layouts close up, so posting the left & right sides separately will enable me to do this ;)

2. You don't have to fill up all the window spaces with photos, it's up to you!

3. Anyone can participate. If possible, please use mostly products from our wonderful designers here at theStudio. We have some awesome goodies (currently at 50% off) with a Back to School (https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=404) theme.

4. Layouts must be posted by 25th August, 2012. You can pop them in our special Back To School Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/g1407-back-2-school.html), and here in this thread.

That's it! You can download the template here [links removed]. The template is provided in .psd, .tiff and individual .png format, so it can be used by most programs. The template is pre-shadowed, but feel free to alter as necessary! Toiny did a great video tutorial on our blog about using templates, so take a peek here (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/2012/06/video-tutorial-using-a-template/) if you need some pointers ;) If you haven't used a template before and need some extra advice, or if you have any questions, feel free to post here, PM me, or email at digi_licious@hotmail.com .

Those who complete the challenge will receive this cute pack of Starry Papers that coordinate with my 'Star Student' Collection (https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_236&products_id=8579). The Collection is currently only $5 and all add-ons are 50% off! You will also receive a $3.00 coupon to my store ;)

Wonderful collection of photos! Well done, great LO :)

Thanks, Christine. I think I will use this on the family calendar I make for Christmas gifts if I can figure out how to get in on an 11 x 8.5 page. I could use pictures of my nephew and nieces too. Some are only half way through their school years and another just starting.

Here is the whole layout: <img src="http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/data/1412/medium/backtoschool-bustemplate-aug2012.jpg" />

I only have one baby and he has only completed kindergarten. No way to fill up all the spaces and my software can't do a double page layout so I would be able to do the 2 parts but not piece them together. Will see what I can do with this one. Cute bus template.

What a fabulous template! I don't have any kids but my dad drove a bus before he died so I dedicate this LO to him. Thanks for the challenge!

I had to modify my page, because I couldn't find my kid's pictures and I never got all of my son's school pictures each year, after I started a life of chronic pain. He didn't like photos, so he wouldn't bring the order form home and would say he just forgot when I would ask hom where the photos were, once I realized the photos were missing at the end of the year.
Since the bus template came with unsized pieces that piled up on the middle of the page as you loaded the template on to your work space, instead of each piece being assigned a specfic place on the page, I thought that personalizing the template however much or little we wanted too, was the intent of the template designer ..so I went for it. I used to take a "First Day Of School" picture of them together each year when they were little, so I used one of those pictures and made a one pg template out of the bus. I hope you like it! I added as many details as I could remember to make the bus look like our local Louisiana buses.

I finally got one done! Since Trinity just started school last year, I only had the one pic of her... so I decided to fill the rest with her classmates! Luckily, there were only 12 kids in her class and it worked perfectly! Thank you for such an awesome template Christine! I'm sure I will use this over and over again for my kids & all of my cousins/nieces/nephews!! ;) :DD :)) I am planning on making another with my son's class, too! :((

Kim! That is so cool! What an awesome way to use the template, thinking outside-of-the-box. I've got it started for all six of my kids. I'm frantically searching for where I HID those photo's LOL.

I love the way you did it. What a neat memory for Trin.

08-28-2012, 04:33 PM
Thanks T! It took me a little bit to figure out what I was going to do with it, because my kids are still little and I don't have many school pics just yet... then I saw the class picture and it just about knocked me over! lol I thought it came out pretty cute! I'm going to print it off and give each kid a copy ;)

08-29-2012, 05:56 PM

Your layout turned out great. What a neat idea to use the whole class and then be lucky enough that you had just the right amount of windows for the students. The teachers will enjoy it also.

08-29-2012, 06:11 PM
I was definitely lucky Babette! :)) Being in a Catholic School, the classes are very small, Trinity's class is one of the bigger ones! lol For my son's, he only has 10 kids including him, so I have to come up with something to fill in the other two openings! 8D

And there are TWO teachers for Kindergarten! So that's only 6 kids per teacher, I love the school they go to! They are thriving there, it was the best investment we've ever made! :DD

Wow, ladies, super pages!!

I'm drawing the prizes today, so I'll send a PM later - keep a lookout!!

09-02-2012, 10:50 PM
All prizes have now been sent out! The winner of the randomly drawn (by my son out of a hat :DD) $15 coupon was... drum roll.... mollyscraps! Congratulations! And thank you all for participating!

Hope you had a great time and are enjoying our current festivities :XX
