I've got this started and it smells great.
Mulligatawny Soup (http://allrecipes.com/recipe/mulligatawny-soup-i/)

I'm going to serve it over steamed Jasmine rice with side green salad, and there's Pepperidge Farm garlic bread for the kids.

So, what's something yummy you're making this week?

Today was simple---grilled cheese sandwiches. But with my two little munchkin grandchildren---who hardly eat anything, I get whatever I can into them!!!!

My husband is out of town and so it's one of my favorites from a long time ago. Grilled cheese sandwich and tomatoe soup.

I threw chicken in the crockpot with some bbq sauce for pulled sandwiches. Just have to make some baked beans and mac & cheese and everyone is happy. The kids want Chinese or sushi one night this week so I think tomorrow night we'll go out and hit the buffet since hubby is working. Friday I'll probably marinate something for the grill.

It's been hot here too. Normally dh doesn't like soup during the summer, but I teased him that it's September now. Snort.... here in coastal Alabama that's still 88 - 92 degrees for the high.

Love grilled cheese! Understand re:your grandkids, one of my dd's is/was a very picky eater. I found some cute cookie cutters and that helped. Cut out things like apples, cucumbers, fruit rollups, and could top with stuff like peanut butter, cheese, even a few hidden veggies. And she was one of those who didn't want the crust left on the sandwich.

Sounds terrific! Don't know what I'd do without my crockpot.
My girls asked for mac and cheese last night. DD #2 (the picky eater) is never thrilled when I cook something "fancy" (her code word for spicy/unusual).

I work 10 1/2 hour days so the last thing I want to do when I get home is prepare an meal that takes forever to cook. During the week its usually simple and fast for us . Salads , sandwiches, soups , microwave meals etc. But on the weekends I do REAL cooking. Thinking lasagna this Saturday and for Sunday stuffed pork chops with candied carrots , grilled asparagus and Parmesan crescent rolls
