View Full Version : Oct PS - Day 7 -

10-20-2012, 10:01 AM
It's time to finish up those beautiful clusters I see everywhere in the gallery 8D ... you all did awesome work - it's not easy to place so many elements on your page without ending in a cluttered mess! Kudos to all of you!!!

Here's a look at what's expecting you in the last download:

Instructions: Add 4 different elements of today's download and one more piece of paper from day 1 (no restrictions on size)!
ETA: only 4 different elements, please, no duplicates

If you have questions regarding the instructions, feel free to post them in this thread.
Upload your layout to the Progressive Scrap Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1032), then come back here and post the link to your layout so I can include you in the poll!

You have until Sunday night to complete your layout, upload it to the gallery and leave a link here in this thread. I will post the poll on Monday afternoon my time (about 10 am EST). The poll will stay open for two days - and I would love to see you all vote!!

I did post a sign-up thread for the QP exchange (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12211), with all the info and deadlines for that - since your page is already done it's really easy to participate ;).

Important: Next month the PS will start one week early, on the first Sunday, Nov 4th!! So don't exhaust yourselves too much with the DSD shopping, you have to "work" on Sunday, lol ;)

Here's my final day!

What a wonderful finish to a great fun progressive. Thanks so much, Min.

I added purple rose, Butterfly, brown flower and green rope
Cut the brown paper to same shape as tan and slipped it underneath
Also add title on tag

ETA to remove extra elements. Didn't realize that we could not duplicate any of the different elements on this step. Got that corrected now.

Also, Min asked about Red Hat and wearing purple dress and red hat. On our birthday month, Red Hatter can chose to reverse our colors and wear red on the shoulders and purple on the head.

Another one for the scrapbook! :)
Thanks for the great PS once again Min!

10-20-2012, 11:51 AM
Day 7! I thought this was hard, but not as difficult as the first one I ever did. On a scale of 1-10, my first one was a 10, and this one a 5. Anyone else finds Progressive Scraps stressfull?

10-20-2012, 12:20 PM
Yes, I am finding it stressful! I haven't loved any of my pages. I'm finding it hard to work with a few elements and design a nice looking page. Wonder if I will do the next PS.

10-20-2012, 12:36 PM
Here is final day.
Thanks to all the designers for the wonderful elements and papers supplied from the Mega Kit Harvest Moon. Thank you Min for the challenge. Everyone did an outstanding job on the gorgeous layouts.

10-20-2012, 12:39 PM
Here is my final. It turned out better than I had thought a couple of days ago. I also find Progressive scraps stressful but not overly so. I enjoy the challenges!

10-20-2012, 01:13 PM
Well, I'm not that stressed out so not to worry Min! I just don't do well at this...lol!

10-20-2012, 01:31 PM
Thanks for hosting and here is my final day.

10-20-2012, 01:36 PM

10-20-2012, 01:52 PM
Hi Norma, I know exactly how you feel - or, maybe I don't. You may be used to doing really great LOs because you see ahead what you will do. I have no idea what is going to happen with my 'doodles' until well into them. But this was a stinker and, like you, I really disliked the pages each day. Thankfully, it turned out somewhat better than I anticipated and I actually posted ;-) I'm sure yours is just great.

10-20-2012, 01:54 PM
Thanks a bunch Min for another fun challenge! Thanks to the designers too-beautiful kit! Here is my gallery link (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/progressive-scraps/p109989-october-2012-progressive-scrapharvest-moon-final.html).

Margaret, I'm certainly out of my "comfort zone"! LOL! I like seeing all the pieces before I design my page! But it was fun...and I'm getting some experience that's for sure!

Love your Yorkie!

10-20-2012, 03:11 PM
I only can say: it was a wonderful challenge and here is my result

Thanks for the challenge, it is my all time fave!!!!

10-20-2012, 03:22 PM
Jill, this is very appealing to my eyes and my tongue can almost taste grape jelly! The font (?) is perfect.

10-20-2012, 03:26 PM
Nani, this is a delightfully fun page. Just need some great-grands so I could go pumpking pickin'!

10-20-2012, 03:28 PM
I love the way you have shown these wonderful old barns Tamie.

10-20-2012, 03:32 PM
Oh Robin, this is truly amazing to me. WOW! WOW! WOW!

10-20-2012, 03:35 PM

10-20-2012, 04:18 PM
Here's my final. Thanks for the fun! Looks like lots of winners this month!

10-20-2012, 04:41 PM
What a fun challenge this month. Gorgeous papers and elements in this kit. This is one of my favorite challenges. Makes me think outside the box. Thank you. Everyone is doing beautiful pages. Here is mine, Magic of the setting sun. I recolored the rose and the paper today to closer match the Rimrocks behind our house when the setting sun hit them in that Magical way that it does sometimes.

10-20-2012, 05:29 PM
What a great bunch of layouts in the gallery. Thanks, Min, for the great kit to work with. It was challenging. Here is the last day's layout:

10-20-2012, 05:49 PM
Wow, some really wonderful layouts. Great work everyone.

Here's mine with our 6 month old grandson, Bishop

Min, because It's not obvious, the paper I added was the green one. I laid it over the original background and used blending modes to make them both show through.

10-20-2012, 06:29 PM
Thanks Min for another fun challenging challenge.
Wonderful variety of layouts here, great job all.

Okay, honestly I love PS and always look forward to doing them. I also adored the kit this month and I'm planning on buying it. But, I really don't like my final layout this month even though I'm posting it. I didn't add photos or a title though. Sorry. Thank you for hosting. I really had a wonderful time and plan on doing it again next month.

10-20-2012, 11:13 PM
I picked this picture to finish the pg 'cause I thought the color of the flowers went picked up well on the dress I was wearing in this old photo. I can't believe my daughter's in middle school now! They grow so fast.

10-21-2012, 01:01 AM
Well, I'm not that stressed out so not to worry Min! I just don't do well at this...lol!

Check my gallery. My progressive layouts usually look a hot mess when I finish but I keep doing them every month thinking I'll eventually learn how to cluster and keep myself enough room. The one that is tough - December and the 12 days of Christmas. Min really gave it to us then. :w

10-21-2012, 01:03 AM
Here is Day 7 of Harvest Moon

10-21-2012, 01:08 AM
Step 7 and for once I am really happy with my layout. Couldn't think of a title so left it off.
Used both flowers, butterfly and grass. Plus brown paper from day 1.

WOW...Min sure is fast! Lighting Fast. So here is my final page. I don't have the photos with me as I am off playing in the Disney Parks...and my page just isn't Disney to me...unless I took more photos at the Halloween Jamboree by Big Thunder. Anyway, happy to be able to complete it. I love the progressive scraps...it is a fun challenge. I don't care for the popularity vote at the end...that always gives me a little stress...I never know if my page will be liked or not.
There are places for three photos...
I used a paper for the fill on the light colored words.

Finally my day 7 !!! It was a terrible job: 57 layers , but at this PS I make things I can't do on my own! So thank you all for your inspiration and the papers and elements! :(( See you next month!

10-22-2012, 06:21 AM
Thank you Min for another great Progressive Scrap. My daughter and I both got to play along this month. She has been "helping" me with comments the last couple of months. It was fun to watch her create her own page. A special thanks to the great designers who put Harvest Moon together. It's always a challenge for me to get over my fear of doing this wrong and just create. The week-long progressive scrap gives me the time to hone my craft. Again, thank you all.

10-22-2012, 06:53 AM
This has been so fun! Much more fun creating my own page (first digital version) than offering my assistance to Mom. Thank you for working with me and allowing me to play along.
