View Full Version : February 2013 Less Is More Challenge
02-04-2013, 03:24 AM
Hi everyone, Darlene here of Studio4 Design•works. It's time for another "Less Is More Challenge!
For the February LESS IS MORE Challenge, I've created a little mini with the theme of Love, being February 14th is Valentine's Day. I've created something a little different - kind of a "doodle" theme. I like to stretch your imagination! So it's not your "traditional" love themed mini.
I'm offering up a FREEBIE mini kit for you to work with called FUNKY LOVE. The premise of this challenge is to download this kit and create a LO using ALL of the elements and papers of the kit, leaving nothing out. Feel free to use your imagination and clip papers, recolour elements or papers. You can add journaling text or a title, but nothing more. You can duplicate items and use them over again, or clip to shapes that come native to your program. Be creative! And most important - have FUN!
Post your LO here (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/g1389--91less-is-more-92-challenge-gallery.html) in the "Less is More" gallery and then link your LO back here in this thread.
Download the mini kit HERE (https://www.dropbox.com/s/z7guv2wt9x3uufw/Studio4%20Funky%20Love.zip).
Here is a preview of the mini kit. Thanks for playing along!
(Once again, my Photobucket is now working. I'm getting so frustrated with it, so for now, I'll just be attaching the image until I can get a better preview for you.)

That's a great memory page Nani - looks like all the elements are there for a wonderful romantic Valentine's day. Great pics and lovely LO!

haha...I'm thinking I'm pretty clever right now. :) I came across these pics from a few years ago and the challenge name just hit me. How true it is that organizing a space really means, "Less is More"?!?! AND this has nothing to do with Valentine's. However, I love these spaces.
and...these spaces...are still in good shape. Organizing the drawers like we did has worked perfectly. The nightstand gets a regular cleaning (dang horizontal space!).

http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/-91less-is-more-92-challenge-gallery/p119824-romantic-hearts.htmlThank you Darlene for the great material to work with! I am still learning how to combine shapes and papers. I am interested in learning how to modify colors of existing elements if anyone has any good links to tutorials on that. Wow, the creativity of everyone here! Imagine that we all had the same elements and created such different layouts :) I am really enjoying this site/ forum and look forward to learning and improving this year. I spent about 5 hours trying to figure out CTRL + Alt+ G to get the shape of the red paper...learning is time consuming sometimes. Have a great weekend everyone/http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/-91less-is-more-92-challenge-gallery/p119824-romantic-hearts.html

Pammy - looks like one lucky girl Christmas morning! What a gorgeous ring - and LO. I love the blended photo behind - just to show us the happy couple! Great job with the mini.

Thanks for the kit and the fun challenge. This is a picture of my brother-in-law's family.

Babette - great LO. The way you placed the ellies flowing down the side gives me the impression of a growing family - which you've portrayed with that lovely family photo. Super nice job!

I had so much fun with this kit! Thank you!
Thanks for looking and offering your constructive critique.

You are more than welcome. I just love that photo! What a hoot! The doodle arrow pointing to the middle guy with the sour look on his face is such a great touch. Lovely LO and thanks for playing along!

I thought it would be rude of me if I received a mini and didn't at least post what I made with it, for the challenge. I am late, sorry about that :)
Thank you for the mini Darlene
