View Full Version : February 2013 Font Challenge!

Whoa... I'm running a little late, but here goes 8D:DD!!
I have been as absolute sucker for fonts ever since I owned a computer I think, and for lettering styles even before that. I used to print out my paper scrapbooking titles using my favorite fonts, cut them out and stick them on to my layouts! There must be billions of fonts floating around out there, and I hope to introduce you to some very cool, fresh and beautiful ones with this challenge!
The rules are easy peasy... use the featured font somewhere, anywhere, in your layout or hybrid project! It may be a title, caption, journaling or monogram.
I have recently been attracted to hand-drawn, flowing style fonts, so here is this month's beauty!
This font is free for Personal Use only, and can be downloaded from here (http://www.dafont.com/the-green-life.font).
I haven't had a chance to whip up my own layout yet :duh:, so I'll be back soon to post it!

Beautiful LO, Sherry! I love the old photo, and the flowing style of the font blends in well with your sparkly flourish :XX

Boy, did this font give me a surprise when I tried to use it for journaling. I didn't take that close a look at it before I downloaded it so I didn't know the only thing this font contains is lower case letters. No upper case, no numbers, no punctuation marks! I had typed my journaling in my word processor and copied/pasted it onto my layout. WHAT A SHOCK! I ended up using it for the title (and only PART of the title) only. I'm not sure this is going to be a "keeper" font.

LOL, well your LO turned out beautifully! I guess that's part of the challenge lol 8D There are lots of fonts that have those kind of limitations... I think this one is definitely best used as a title or for captions/statements ;)

Well, for whatever reason, when I right click on my layout to get PROPERTIES, a different window is now opening and the word "properties" is not on the list---so here is the link to my layout.
And here's my layout through Photobucket:

I decided to use this font on my "featured designer" layout. Thanks for introducing me to a new one I hadn't used before -- definitely fun for titles! You can see my layout here (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/featured-designer-challenge/p119070-sisters-and-friends.html).

I was surprised to discover that the font this month had no capital letters and no puncuation, so I used a coordinating font for those items in my title.
