I do hope you all can forgive me but I have been flat on my back with the flu for the last 4 days. What started out as a case of bronchitis hit me like a ton of bricks and I was out of it.

So without further ado, it would appear that the consensus has chosen the layout by lovesart as the winner!

Congratulations to you and all of the beautiful entries this month each of you was so deserving! I'll be getting the February challenge posted in the next day or so, so stay tuned!

Ok, I did it again. That's what I get for not putting the date to end the contest on every calendar in the house, lol. But now the challenge is officially closed and it's time for the voting!! Good luck everyone, we had some fabulous entries this month for sure!

So here are the entries (in order of appearance)

As we get ready to begin a brand new year, I thought it would be apropriate to do a Heritage theme based on a song that is traditionally sung at the stroke of midnight on New Years, "Auld Lang Syne".

For those that don't know, here's a bit of history. According to Wikipedia, "Auld Lang Syne is a song by Robert Burns (1759–1796), although a similar poem by Robert Ayton (1570–1638), as well as older folk songs, use the same phrase, and may well have inspired Burns."

The words Auld Lang Syne literally means "old long ago," or simply, "the good old days."

So, now that the lesson is over (lol), feel free to be creative and craft a layout that has something to do with your family as it relates to the song's title!

As is the usual requirement, please use a SAS-y designer kit either purchased from the boutique or one freely given on their blogs. Post your completed layout in the Heritage layout of the month gallery (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=574)and then give us a link back here in this thread so we can marvel at your creativity!

The contest will run from January 1 to January 28 with voting on the 29th and 30th. The winner will receive a $5 coupon to use in the boutique. Have FUN!!!

I've been planning to scrap this photo for quite awhile and this seemed the perfect challenge for it. I just love the look of anticipation on my little sister's face. This picture is from 1958 and is one of my all time favorites.

At least I think this photo is in the early 50's. I am guessing .It is one of the RARE photos I have of my parents together.

Great job with your layouts everyone! I've left comments in the gallery for all participants. Only 6 more days to go for the challenge so if there is anyone else who would like to participate, there's still time!!
