View Full Version : Freestyle Challenge for May '08

Hi Everyone ~
Sorry I'm late in posting this, but as some of you may know, yes, I'm still having internet issues. On to it, then!

A Quilting Bee!

This month's Challenge involves some "quilting" knowledge on your part... I am giving you 9 quilting blocks (all digi, of course! :D) and for this challenge, you will create a layout using one or more of the blocks. I will send you the zip file as soon as you PM me with your request to participate, or ask me in this thread as a reply. You are also welcome to make your layout without my blocks, just as long as you stick to the subject...

The subject of your page must have some reference to the following:
bringing together
sewing things together
bonding or binding

For your posting bonus, which I will be sending out on the 15th and 30th of the month, this is your gift for participating in this Quilting Bee challenge with me. The "freestyle" part is simply to use your digi imagination to "sew" your page.

I hope you will join me!

Stella, it seems you and I have similar interests! Digi scrapping (of course), birds, the ocean and now sewing and quilting! Love to sew, though I must admit, I've had no desire to do any since discovering this digi scrapping thing, LOL! Anyway, this is an interesting challenge and I'll have to give it some thought and try to come up with something for you... I hope you get your Internet issues resolved soon - it's must be totally frustrating!

Stella I love the Quilting Theme for this challenge. I would love to do a LO about my grandmother with it but I am very new to doing this and need a little assistance. I am not sure what a PM is..but I would love to try to do this challenge. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Hi Sandra and welcome to SAS. A 'PM' is a 'Private Message', to send one to Stella, go to her thread (message in this forum) above and click on her name 'Stella'. This will give you a little menu from which you should choose: Send a Private Message to Stella. You'll then be brought to a screen where you can type your message. If you need anymore help, just let us know here.

Ok here is my attempt. It was very hard and I struggled to make it interesting. Thanks for the push to do something different. I am afraid it is not one of my better ones but it was fun.

I went on my own for the quilting, but I'd love a set of those blocks too! My Grandma quilts and I have done a few scrapbook layouts with quilting templates and I really ought to do a "quilted" page for her! :D

Thanks for the Challenge! :DThe Kit was Great!
I spent all day figuring this on out. I am so glad you gave me the inspiration to do something diferent. I enjoyed playing with the stitching & making all the colors match. Plus I got to use my April Showers Mega Kit. Hmm I Love it when I actually use a kit I Purchased. It was hard to just pick 4 photos from a very happy moment in time! Now I hope to make pages like these for my other 2 Kids.
Thanks Again! Here it is

Here is my LO (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=14065&nocache=1). I really enjoyed doing this challenge. Sometimes it just takes me a bit to come up with really good inspiration for myself I guess.
