The best way to think about a quick page is that it is a layout with the photos removed. You create it at 300 dpi (dots per inch) and the size should be either 12x12 (preferred) or 8x10.
Like any other page, place the elements in the desired locations, it might be easier for you to actually use pictures during the design process to help you visualize better.
Before you save it as a QP remove any photos used and then save it as a png, pngs are flat and they average between 16-20 mgs.
Then you need to save a preview for the gallery.
You will need to change the file size which at this point should be 12 x 12 at 300 dpi, change your size to 8x8 at 72 dpi, when you click OK your document will shrink before your eyes, that is OK.
For the preview save the document as a jpg, I usually rename it at this point as; document_name_8x8 you should then get a dialog box that asks you what setting you want to use, I usually save it at 10, this is high enough to preserve the quality. The resulting jpg will usually be under 1-2 mgs.
Before you close your document undo the size change and save it in the format you usually use.
Good Luck and Enjoy,
Julie :)
