Due to the number of commitments I have in my life right now, I am opting for a free with purchase bonus this month. My son just crossed over to boy scouts and I am helping him get settled in to his new troop. He had his first meeting last week, they are going camping this weekend and then they have their summer camp the first week of July. I am busy trying to get his camp paid for, get a scholarship for that, get his supplies ready, get my daughter ready for her dance recital this weekend, finding a job, keeping the house clean, and other things in between. So, in lieu of this month's challenge, I will be doing a FWP bonus. The challenge will be back next month as I hope to get this job I am going for an interview today. Whew!! I am tired already just thinking about it all! I am working on choosing a winner and will post that and the winning page here later today!!! Please check back in a couple of weeks when the July challenges are announced. And, if anyone has any ideas for a challenge, could you all please post them here so I can get my brain to working again. Thanks guys!!!!

I don't understand the FWP bonus. I would like to suggest a family tree - whatever size people want to use.

it is a free with purchase bonus. I like the idea of a family tree. I may have to see what I can pull out of the closet for that one!! Also, I have another job interview today. I am crossing my fingers on this one. I applied to this job back at the first part of May. They guy called me yesterday and asked if I was still interested and apologized because he had just come across my application. I am thinking if he didn't need anyone, he would have just passed it over!!

Good luck with the job interview Melanie!

The Designers have a choice to either do a challenge for the month or a Free With Purchase Kit... this is what Melanie is referring to! She opted for the Free With Purchase for June and will continue the challenge in July!

So, stay tuned ladies... :D

hmmm, suggestions....

I really like the Family Tree! Great idea Gloria!

How about ethnicity? If you can track your family back to their original countries, scrap a layout about that country! I'm sure the family will want to know a little about the country they have all come from! I would have to include 4 different countries on my layout! LOL!

Earliest childhood memory
First House
Family Gatherings
Meaning of Family Name

That's about all I can think of for right now! :)

Visiting cemeteries is something genealogy hunters do a lot. What kind of layouts can we make from the photos we bring home from there? That might be interesting to see!

I like the idea of the cemetery pictures. I have a good one of my Uncle's grave at Christmas. He is buried in a Veteran's cemetery where we live. It is such a sad, beautiful and humbling sight to see all the white headstones out there. It is amazing to actually see the ones who served our country and the number of them that served!

I like the cemetery idea, the country of origin ,the family tree and the Family Name origins.
I might suggest scrapping the Oldest Living person(s) of the family and/or the youngest.

Thanks ladies! These are all good ideas. I may put them in the hat and draw one of them out. BUt I am kind of leaning towards the cemetery one. I have one of my uncle's grave and I would love to scrap that. Maybe do a picture of the gravesite and a picture of the person when they were living. For some people that may be a big challenge. What do you think of that idea???

Kim, Countries wil be difficult for me since my family from both side lived in the netherlands from the time we could trace them about 1425.
So perhaps a LO about a periode, like what happend in 1814 in the world and specially in the area your family lived. or if you kbow their occupations scrap aboutthat. One of my accesters was shipping peat to Amsterdam

I made a family fan for my mother I only had pictures of her and two generation above, but put all the names of the ancestors in it.

As for grave yards, that will be a good idea. Although both my grandparents have been cremated so that will be difficult, but I can take a picture of where theis ashes where scatterd. In my husbands family the have prayerpictures (translate bidprentje (dutch)) so I like to scrap them some time.

Countries would be difficult for me too Astrid... I have ancestors from Ireland, Hungry, France, Poland, England & Holland! Most of my ancestors came from England or Ireland (maiden name is Watson)... but I would like to acknowledge the other countries as well! I think I would have to make separate pages for each country to do them justice! And WOW... that's great that you can trace them back that far!! The furthest I can go is about 1750... :)

I also have some Native American in my heritage... my Great-Great-Great-Great Paternal Grandmother was Black Foot Indian! I hope I have enough "Great's" in there! lol

All the ideas sound great. The cemtery one (I have several pics) would also make a great journaling page as you would want to tell about who is buried there.

Another suggestion is a Book of Me or someone such as a child, mother, father aunt, uncle anyone special that you could do a few layouts about.

How about Dads and Grandpas and Great Grandpas since this month was Father's Day we could all do layouts about these Dad's and how they influenced our lives!!
