Do you need to register to vote, or can guests vote? Judith

I've had a couple people tell me that they registered, came back after they got their email but were unable to vote still. Is there a waiting period for people who just registered?

Okay well the way it works is someone registers they get sent an email, but they probably can't vote if they still have awaiting approval below their username, so once they are approved they should be fine to vote. I just approved 9 members so maybe it was some of them :)

Mmmmm.....I have not asked any of my friends to go and vote for my design.
If my creations are not good enough to be voted for, without me asking for my family and friends to vote......well, then it is so.

This is a very good point, and one I definitely respect. I considered several ways to keep this from being a popularity contest, or one where the squeakiest wheel gets the most grease. However, 1) I couldn't devise a way where that worked flawlessly; and 2) being a Designer = being a seller. And sellers must sell. Sales involve begging, pleading, advertising and leaning heavily on friends and family to get the word out. Especially at the beginning... in any new venture.

So it is set-up that anyone can participate, anyone can vote because getting your name out there, selling yourself, selling your designs is part of what makes you a good Designer.

Remember though that the final round, the round that counts, is not decided by the public, your friends, your family but by us. The final round will be a private vote just by the SAS Design Team and we will most definitely vote on the most fantabulous designs, the best Designer... because your designs will be next to ours in the store, and you will be designing kits side-by-side with us.

I hope that helps!

Smooches,

Toiny

My digi scrapping friends are all from the site I spent a year and a half at so they would have to register. Since I have just ventured off that site I don't have any friends on other sites. I've thought about the "popularity contest" aspect but what can you do. Promotion is the key! I'm here to learn and have fun and get my name out there.

Hi, I'm newly registered, just so I could vote because there was one kit that really grabbed me ... But wanted you girls to know that there are some of us out here who actually voted for designs that deserved votes. I didn't vote for anybody I knew. Like I said, there was one kit I thought showed a real knack for this, and I picked two others that just appealed to me. I'm all for supporting friends, but in something like this I feel I need to go with what my gut and conscience (sp) tells me "Hers are good, but these are better." I ask myself "Would I buy this? Would I spend my money on this?"

Good luck to everyone. :)

And that's exactly how I hope others are voting too :) for the quality, for what appeals
