HI, have a look at this great page of Lillypug34 I scraplifted here (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=941). It is called Summer Afternoon. This is so pretty I just wanted to scraplift it the moment I saw it. That was quite a while ago. Now I had the chance. Thing is in the beginning I thought I will copy her to the T. Including using the same kit!! But alas, I did my own thing afterall!!!!!:)

I would like some constructive critisism. Maybe there is something lacking? Please feel free to leave any comment.

Hi scrappers!! I'm excited to announce a new challenge here at Stone Accents Studios! Every month, I will choose a member of our site to spotlight. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to follow the link to that member's gallery and go crazy with the comments. Then, pick one (or more) layouts of that member's gallery to scraplift, include both the link to the scraplifted layout and your version to receive the participation prize. Post your layout in the SAS-y Spotlight Challenge Gallery (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=552) and comment in this thread by October 15th. Don't forget to credit the original person you scraplifted in your layout's description. Every participant will receive a mini-kit from me. September's Gallery Spotlight shines on lillypug34 and her beautiful layouts in her gallery (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=649&sl=l).

Here's the prize you will receive from me for participating:

I was inspired by lillypug34's Beach Day (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=510&ppuser=649&sl=l), especially making the photo the background and the extractions on the other photos. Here is my interpretation:

My inspiration was lillypugs "There is a Garden." I love how she blended the photo into the layout and wanted to try it. The link to her photo:

Wow Lilllypugs gallery is wonderful. I get inspiration and ideas from her LO's but I am just a beginner scrapbooker and do not have the skills to actually scraplift.I am just learning to use kits.

I chose Flower Shower by Lilypug34, but I was having a hard time trying to emulate her. Although her photos are genally candid, if not ordinary, it is her ability to take the simple and make it extraordinary and in some cases magical. It is not her mastery of technique, but rather it is her talent to show the uniqueness of each moment and make them all special. She is able to this convey to her viewer and the viewer is also able to see her love for each subject. This in turn is what makes it enjoyable to look at her gallery. I thank Lilypug34 for sharing her talent and hope that I was able to do her justice.

The picture is of my daughter at a library function celebrating Dr. Seuss, they decorated hats and had their faces painted, among other things. Thanks for looking.

This is my attempt

http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1883&limit=recent

I just had to add a third photo instead of an element and then my photos were larger too changing everthing.Anyway My layout doesn't look anything like Lillypugs.
I am wondering if I don't really understand what scraplifting means?

joba2, your layout don't need to look like hers,
her layout should inspire you, nothing more

so i picked Rose Petals (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=757&ppuser=649&sl=l) from hers

and here is mine (http://www.stoneaccentsstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1927&limit=recent)

You did a great job, don't get caught up in the semantics. The point of these challenges is to push you to try new things. To improve your technique or try something new. You have been doing such great layouts. Keep them coming.

I second what Pillowgirl said. Scraplifts are great because there are absolutely no rules and you can get inspired by ANYTHING on the layout. You don't necessarily have to do an exact copy. If you really like how the scrapper has used buttons in the layout, you can choose to use buttons in a different place. If you like the colors of the layout itself, you can go with that and create your own design. It's what grabs your imagination and inspires you to create layouts that you may not normally create. :)

I loved having a go at this challenge and Lillypug34's gallery has sooooooo many gorg lo's but I totally fell in love with here 'There is a Garden' lo so that's what I based my lift on. I did two ever so slightly different and don't know which I prefer. What do you think?
