View Full Version : Day 7

02-21-2010, 03:45 AM
How can it be that today is the last day already???? This was so much fun and I'm completely in awe of all your creativity - your layouts are stunning!!!

And all those butterflies..... I can hardly believe how many of you took on my extra challenge, you absolutely rock!!! :XX Even if you go back to a less fluttery version to finish this challenge - it was great to see you putting so much thought, creativity and hard work into this and I loved looking at every single butterfly! :((
I will pm all of you who completed the 150 (give or take a few, LOL) butterflies challenge with the info to get to your kits - you can already start looking around in my store (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=61) to find out what you want, LOL.

The poll to vote for the winner will not go up until Tuesday morning my time (about Tuesday 1 am EST) so I hope you all have enough time to finish up. :)
Until then I will continue to check the threads and pass out links to those who are still working on earlier days.

Today's pieces were created by Monika Designs (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=33) and were taken from the wonderful Mega Kit "A Touch of Love" (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_58&products_id=4286&zenid=7e59a53f0011c62eb704962e355069ef):

Use the ribbon twice and the branch once. Add your pictures and some journaling or a title (if you want to) and upload your finished layout to this gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1063) and post a link to it right here in this thread!

Thank you all very much for joining this challenge - I hope you had as much fun playing along as I did hosting it!

I have had such a blast doing this progressive scrap. Thank you everyone, but especially Min for doing such a wonderful job of organising it, and all theStudio Designers who contributed to our play scraps.
It was so cool seeing how peopel used 150 butterflys, I had already tried my page without my fluttery overlay and much prefered with the butterflys, so they stay...

Hope everryone had as much fun as I did.
P.S. for the voting can I close my eyes and click? Think that would be a lot easier, because this is going to be so hard to choose ;)

Here is my final layout for Feb Progressive Challenge.

The butterfly's seemed to be the perfect fit as my husband calls me a social butterfly. I go butterflying every Monday and Butterflying with another group during the week for Coffee which I do not drink. For me it is ice tea or diet pepsi.

Our Monday lunch bunch girls are meeting this week at the Cowpoke Cafe. Most of us are retired and the group size changes from week to week depending on who is available to have lunch. My husband says I am a social butterfly. so when I get a call as to where we are meeting he will say are you Butterflying today. The butterfly's represent all my social friends.

Be very careful what you ask for.... I'm very easily provoked into action, LOL! (Toiny, do we have room for another challenge?)

Ladies, I'm taking "a little bit of a time out" today/tonight (my family wants me, LOL) - I'll be back to ooh and aah over your gorgeous layouts tomorrow - promised! :)

Day 7 - I thoroughly enjoyed this Progressive Scrap. You did an outstanding job. I am going to have withdrawels until the next Progressive. These are so much fun. Thank you for all your hard work.

02-21-2010, 05:47 PM
Okay, all done, I am going now to try to choose my three... I had a blast with this challenge, and I love the result! hope it's okay I deleted the numbers from my butterfly words... LOL

Thanks for hosting Min, hope your family doesn't have to all get new glasses from squinting at the computer screen as you tried to count all our little butterflies. I had to magnify my page to 400% to even be able to work with some of the distant ones!

02-21-2010, 05:59 PM
 Just went to the gallery to see what everone else came up with today, and quickly realized I got today's instructions backwards... foliage twice, ribbon once:( I'll be back later with a corrected LO (sniff, sniff)

:rolleyes:That's okay though, my husband had a happy birthday today!:XX

02-21-2010, 06:46 PM

02-22-2010, 12:30 AM

Thank you so much for hosting this challenge! It was the first progressive scrap I've ever participated in and was so much fun it won't be the last. It was the highlight of my week when work threatened to drive me insane. I really like how it stretched me creatively; I seriously thought I was going to give up Day 5 thinking there was just no way I could make it work. I love the final results and am so excited because I used techniques I've never done before; colors and elements I don't normally work with; and saw so many cool LOs that make me want to learn even more cool techniques!!!!!

I couldn't decide which version of my layout I liked better, the minimal or 150 Flutterbys, so I proceeded with both and here are the results:

*A Lone Butterfly (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=52012&cat=recent&limit=recent)
*150+ Flutterbys (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=52013&limit=recent)

And then I decided I actually wanted something in between. I just loved my "butterfly ruffle" I couldn't lose it completely but it needed to be less dominant so here is my in-between version (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=52011&cat=recent&limit=recent).

I had a lot of fun with this. Thank you Min and all of the designers for the great time!!

Although I left all the butterflies on this one, I will be deleting most of them, and rearrangeing a few things for a layout for the family. The kit is so perfect for summer garden photos!!

By the way Min, remember for the future, that you can't dare a scrapper!!

02-22-2010, 02:19 AM
By the way Min, remember for the future, that you can't dare a scrapper!!

... actually I was the one being dared - by allery_mom, ROFL! (and I loved every single butterfly of it, LOL)

Don't think you'll be safe now, scrapping-Jedis, you'll never know when my dark side will resurface. I'll be back! (insert evil laughter here).

Um. Sorry about that, LOL.

02-22-2010, 03:36 AM
Fun scrap, Min!!! I love these cause it motivates me to at least get ONE layout done in my busy life:) Here's my final layout. Thanks!

I had lots of fun, and spent way to much time (lol) on this challenge.
Here is my final layout, and I kept all of the butterflies as I felt that was the only fair way.
I did blend some of them into the background though.
