View Full Version : Make a 'Siggy' Challenge

03-20-2010, 04:59 AM

Welcome to our ‘Spring Cleaning’ event here at DSS! A good way to brush
away all those cobwebs is to renew the old a little, lol …. So I thought I’d throw
this little Challenge at you all to make yourselves a lovely Spring Signature.

Now if you’re wondering what a Signature is well it’s the place at the bottom of
your posts where people normally put their name and blinkies and any links they
want to share. It's a wonderful way to show off your personality and make your
posts more personal.

The type of Signature I would like you all to create for yourselves this week can
be either ‘stagnant’ or ‘moving’ (whichever you prefer) and I would like you to
use AT LEAST 50% OF THE STUDIO’S PRODUCTS in your creation. It must also
have a ‘Spring’ theme/look.

Take a look around at the threads and see what other’s have done in their
signatures to get that ‘mojo’ running on full steam. You can make your Siggy as
elaborate or plain as you like.

I would like you to create for yourself a ‘Signature’ (Siggy) with at least 50%
of the Studio products.
Please include your name in your Siggy.
Open up a new file sized at 3000 x 1500 and start playing around just as you
would when making a layout. Once you have finished your work of Art, merge
your layers or flatten your image and resize it to around 300 x 150 (no bigger
than 400 x 200) remember we want them to look good without being overpowering.
But also remember to save your Siggy as a PSD (or similar) just in case you are not
happy with the look once on the site.
Upload your finished Siggy to Photobucket (or similar photo sharing site)

Place that image code in this thread so that we can all have a look and also upload it to the Signature Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1085).

For this Challenge I'd like to see only ONE large Signature and any blinkies you have :)

Please complete your siggy by 31st March to go into the Vote!

To Put Your Siggy in User Profile:

Copy the ‘IMG’ code that you are given and then go to your ‘User CP’ here at DSS

Go into ‘Edit Signature’

Then enter your image details in the lower box along with any other information
you want to attach, be sure to ‘preview’ your signature and make any alterations
both to the Siggy itself and to your overall look on the site ie: centre, bold etc.
before saving.

oooh, another skill to learn... I don't know if I can do this, but I look forward to trying!

03-20-2010, 05:43 PM
If you can make a layout you'll be able to make a siggy :DD I can't wait to start this one!

03-21-2010, 09:07 AM
Sounds fun! Can't wait!

03-21-2010, 01:32 PM
Hmm, how many 'siggies' can we have at once? Just one?

03-21-2010, 02:21 PM
This is fun!!! When do we start!!

03-21-2010, 04:59 PM
Something new, I can hardly wait. You guys come up with the best challenges.

03-21-2010, 05:48 PM
I really would like to know how to do this. Thanks for the challenge, Jeanette. Looking forward to learning.

03-21-2010, 11:53 PM
Instructions are now in the first post :)

03-22-2010, 02:01 AM
Hmm, how many 'siggies' can we have at once? Just one?

One Siggy and as many smaller blinkies as you like :DD (you can put your other siggy back up after the challenge :)) Of course the Designers may use their Designer names if they like :DD

03-22-2010, 10:07 AM
Ok here's mine, I've been wanting to do this but didn't know exactly how. Thanks.

03-22-2010, 10:38 AM

Very first siggie ever. I am not sure why mine is so much smaller than what I see here, used 400x200 px. Oh well you can read the name and that is what this is about, right?

03-22-2010, 01:12 PM
Not sure why it's small but it's very beautifully done :)

03-23-2010, 12:16 AM
Okay so here's my third and final attempt at this. First one you couldn't read my name, second one ended up not very "springy" so third time is the charm, right? LOL!
I spent way too much time on this but it was fun! Thanks!

This was more time consuming than doing a layout. But here it is.

03-25-2010, 05:19 PM
Here is my new siggy!!

It's kind of small, isn't it?

Fun to do though!!

03-26-2010, 11:55 AM
I got mine done ! (lol) it is in the gallery with credits here :

03-26-2010, 02:46 PM
Okay, that was hard! I used mainly Butterflies & Blossoms by Nibbles Skribbles.

03-26-2010, 03:51 PM
YES!!! Wooohooooo!
Thanks Mistybelle!

ROFL .... well done :)

03-26-2010, 03:52 PM
Okay, that was hard! I used mainly Butterflies & Blossoms by Nibbles Skribbles.

It looks wonderful, don't forget to pop it into the gallery too :DD

03-27-2010, 02:58 AM
This was a lot of fun. It was my first try, and I might have gone overboard.
Here is the link to mine: Char- Spring Signature (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=54459&title=char-spring-signature&cat=1085)

03-27-2010, 10:14 AM
Well, I created mine using Naturally, by mISTYBELLE Designs - but I don't understand why it's so darned tiny! I had trouble adding the blinkies too, 'cause the graphic came without animation and only had a partial image.
Now looking through the thread I see I used the same bracket frame you did, Jeanette! Sheesh. I did have fun!

03-27-2010, 04:52 PM
I'm not quite sure why some end up smaller than others, when I upload to photobucket I always make sure it at the 17" size ( in more options) perhaps your's is set to small or something?

Great work anyway Cindy, love it :)

03-28-2010, 08:26 AM
Alright, here's mine. I used a kit of mine that isn't released yet :D called Mr & Mrs....hmmm wonder what the theme of that kit is...LOL

03-29-2010, 01:59 PM
Here is mine! I think I am addicted! I have made four different ones in the last week! I guess I can just change it up every once in awhile! LOL! I used a combo of some Cubblebeez elements, and elements/paper from both Live, Laugh, Love and Sunshine After the Rain.

03-29-2010, 07:54 PM
I tried again, and got the same smallish results. When I tried to enlarge in photobucket it just started to get a little fuzzy.

I'm curious about adding the blinkie too. How do I do that if the gif opens in photoshop on a 'slide' that's only partial?

This time I used Gypsy Girl by mISTYBELLE Designs

Thanks for hosting, Jeanette!

03-30-2010, 01:49 AM
New siggy made but I forgot the DSS stuff part, LOL! So well, have a look at my first own made siggy even though it won't count for the challenge!

03-30-2010, 07:19 AM
spitfire - try uploading it to www.tinypic.com, tinypic doesn't resize unless you tell it too so it should upload at 100% :D

03-30-2010, 07:54 AM
Well i made one and its there i hope it comes up !
never made one before and made it with piggyscraps watermelon

03-30-2010, 07:55 AM
Now i can see it in my cp why didnt it come up??

03-31-2010, 03:30 AM
Thanks for joining in anyway Simona :DD

03-31-2010, 03:31 AM
Ok ladies you have 'til the end of 31st March .... wonderful work so far, I'm glad you've all tried something a little different this month, it's good to learn :)
