September 2010 Recipe Card Challenge

Here are the instructions for this month's recipe card challenge/exchange:

1. Click HERE (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=13_189) to download the starter kit. It will be a freebie through September 7. Please use this kit (or papers/elements you design in the same color palette) so the cards will "coordinate" and to ensure we don't violate other designers' TOU. IMPORTANT NOTE: Beginning in October, the starter kit will be a freebie only to those who participated the month before.

2. The general theme for this month's cards is PARTY TIME. If you need different tags, send me an e-mail and I'll make them for you. Think cake, punch, mints, finger foods, hors d'oeuvres, refreshments ~ really, anything you might make to serve for a birthday, shower, wedding reception, anniversary, neighborhood block party, etc.

3. Design your recipe card(s) however you'd like. Include your name, forum name, e-mail address ~ whatever you want ~ on the card.

4. Create your original card at 6" wide X 4" tall (1800 and 1200 pixels) and save it as a 300 ppi jpeg, quality of 10. These are the print-quality cards that will be shared with all participants. You will also need to resize your card at 72 ppi to post in the gallery.

WHEN FINISHED with your card(s), do the following 3 things:

1. E-mail your print-quality, 300 ppi recipe card to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com so it can be included in the download file at the end of the month. Several participants have asked for blank copies of the cards you design, so if you're willing to send me both (with and without the words), that would be great!

2. Upload a picture of your 72 ppi card to the Recipe Card Challenge Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1042).

3. Post a link here in this forum thread no later than September 30 so we can leave you some love and so you'll be eligible for your store points.

At the end of the month, all participants will receive your points and a link to download all the cards created that month. Bon appétit!!

Reminder about POINTS EARNED for completing this challenge:
• You'll earn 10 points for the first recipe card and 5 points for each additional card.
• If you complete all theStudio challenges this month, you'll earn a 100 point BONUS.
• 100 points = $1 to the store.
• Points may be redeemed at any time. PM Toiny or any Admin at the Studio.

Wow am I late or what!! Here is my September recipe for Mexican Quiche. Make these with a mini cupcake pan for individual bite sized quiches. I made these for both my daughter's weddings. They are always a big hit. Thanks for the mini kit, Maurine, I love your recipe card kits.

Before I could even answer, you got your card done - and it looks perfect! For future reference, you'll see that people use all kinds of different fonts and sizes. My eyes are OLD, so I tend to use a slightly bigger font.

I am going to do this!!! I got started and I don't know what kinda Font to use or what Font size to use so that you can read it when pinted ...could anyone help me with this?

Someone asked how to make their cards show here in the forum. Hope this will help.

1. In the gallery, click on the small photo of your recipe card so you will go to the large photo of your recipe. Right click the large photo and click on "properties." A new window will pop up.

2. Highlight the "address (url)." While it is still highlighted, right click and hit "copy." Hit "cancel" at the bottom of the new window and go the forum.

3. Creat a new post. In your post, look towards the top where it says "message." Find the icon that has two small mountains on it. Click the icon. Another window will pop up which has http. highlighted. Hit "backspace" on your keyboard. The http will disappear.

4. Now left click the address bar that just had the "http" highlighted that you did a backspace on. Next "right click" and hit "paste. Click "ok."

5. Your recipe card address should show up in your post. You will not see your picture yet. Click "submit reply." If I wrote this correctly and you followed the directions correctly, well, then, you should see your recipe card!

Someone asked how to make their cards show here in the forum. Hope this will help.
