View Full Version : October 10 - Freestyle Challenge
It's Halloween month - so I'll send you trick-and-treating ;)
Your challenge for October is:
Create a layout using 15 goodies (elements or papers) from 15 different kits of at least 10 different designers!! (Recoloring is allowed, you may use the same thing more than once but it will still count as one.)
Hint: We have a lot of freebies in the store and on (almost?) all of the designer blogs (check out the designer and member giveaway threads (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=23)) - so go trick-and-treating or look through your stash - you'll probably be surprised at all the great things you already had forgotten about, LOL!
Upload your layout to the Freestyle Challenge Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=630) giving proper credit and leave a link here in this thread!
And who knows... maybe I'll pass out some "candy" to all who participate... :l

Thanks Min for hosting this. It was a fun and great challenge. For good measure, I used 16 goodies from 16 kits and 15 designers. Credits are listed in the gallery.

Well, now that I finally got last month's posted, I can go ahead and start *thinking* about this one!
Thanks for the interesting challenge, Min; this used to be the way I always scrapped, but when I started posting my LOs on the Gallery, I stopped scrapping that way - too hard to credit appropriately! So it'll be fun to do it again!

will have to get myself organized and make sure to keep a credit list for this one, most of the time now I just work with one kit.

Yep, I found lots of stuff I had forgotten about and had lots of fun trying to make it all work. This is what I came up with:

I keep looking at this challenge, and have played around with a couple of things. But, I have a question.
I'm new to digi scrapping, and was wondering how do y'all keep track of who made what element you've used in a LO? I always have sooooo many files open and am adding and removing pieces like mad. I stopped and tried to figure out where they all came from, but to no avail.
Any tips for a newbie who would like to play along in the freestyle challenge??
Edit: I realize this is a month late, but still would like to know any tidbits!
Thanks!!

Joy, there are different possibilities to keep track of your credits, here are some that I use:
Open notepad and write down the filename of every item you use, save the file in the same folder as the layout with a filename like layoutname_credits
Rename each layer of your layout with the filename of the item used
In Photoshop (and I think in PSE as well) in the file menu, go to file info and type the filename and credits in there
Hope that helps some... :)
