Here are the instructions for this month's recipe card challenge/exchange:

1. Click HERE (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=13_189&products_id=6775) for this month's starter kit; it will be free to those who participated in the prior month's challenge. Please use this kit (or papers/elements you design in the same color palette) so the cards will "coordinate" and to ensure we don't violate other designers' TOU.

2. The general theme for this month's cards is your favorite MAIN DISH. This is a wide open theme ~ anything goes! And if you can't think of a main dish recipe, choose your own category. If you need a different tag for your card, send me an e-mail and I'll make it for you.

3. Design your recipe card(s) however you'd like. Include your name, forum name, e-mail address ~ whatever you want ~ on the card.

4. Create your original card at 6" wide X 4" tall (1800 and 1200 pixels) and save it as a 300 ppi jpeg, quality between 8 to 10. These are the print-quality cards that will be shared with all participants. You will also need to resize your card at 72 ppi to post in the gallery.

WHEN FINISHED with your card(s), do the following 3 things:

1. E-mail your print-quality, 300 ppi recipe card to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com so it can be included in the download file at the end of the month. Several participants have asked for blank copies of the cards you design, so if you're willing to send me both (with and without the words), that would be great!

2. Upload a picture of your 72 ppi card to the Recipe Card Challenge Gallery (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=1042). Please upload only your actual recipe card ~ not the blank cards.

3. Post a link here in this forum thread no later than March 31.

At the end of the month, all participants will receive your points and a link to download all the cards created that month. Bon appétit!!

I don't know about anyone else, but I am so ready for spring! This starter kit is inspired by my "Outside My Window: Spring" full size kit. I can't wait to see all the fun recipe cards you create with it!

I'll be organizing all of the February cards this weekend and send the download links to participants. I'll also send you the coupon code to get this month's starter kit for free.

Cheesy potatoes can be a main dish! Depending on who is cooking at my house, a peanut butter sandwich is a main dish! Anything goes!

Hi, everyone. I just sent the coupon code for the March starter kit to everyone who participated in February. If you don't receive my e-mail, send me a note and let me know. The download links for all the February cards will be sent in the next few days -- I just have a few more cards I'm waiting for...

This is the perfect recipe to go with this kit -- glad you shared it! And I just edited my original post to broaden the category beyond main dishes. I'd love to get as many main dish recipes as possible, but am totally cool with other recipes, too!

My kids loved these when they were young and they even helped to make them.

Fantastic work so far, everyone! I was just a teeny bit worried about doing "main dish" with this kit -- it would have been easier to go with "chicken" for the theme. But I've had a lot of requests for main dish recipes -- and I wanted to "challenge" everyone a little bit more with this month's challenge. You've come through with flying colors.

One other item of business: I have personally printed MANY of these recipe cards and love having a nice, hard copy. I received an e-mail message from Walgreen's yesterday that has a coupon code to print 4 x 6 photos for 10 cents each. The only "bad" part is that you have to print 75. So if you have a bunch of these -- or other things you want to print for that price -- click on this link (http://photo.walgreens.com/walgreens/storepage/storePageId=Special+Offer+Prints?stop_mobi=yes&ec=hncx3125_10centprints&ep_mid=93542876&ep_rid=3052049804) to go to their page. I think this will work for anyone -- I just happened to get it because I'm on their mailing list. The offer expires on March 26.

Well, I am definitely running late this month with my recipe...(Maurine, did you notice??)

Another place to get "cheapy" 4x6 prints is Artscow.com. You sign up, you get something like 1500 prints FREE. Yeah, FREE! Prints include 4x6, 5x7, 8x10, photo books, etc...no joke! I signed up over a year ago, used most of my prints and they still send you "freebies." It might be more 4x6 prints or 8x8 photo books, which are also available in 6x6. I have had several books printed of my grandchildren and have been extremely pleased with all of them.

Now the catch with the freebies...you do pay shipping and it comes from Japan BUT, even with that I just got 61 FREE 4x6 prints ( yes, my recipe cards) and paid something under $8. 8x10 prints are $.69 and 4x6 prints are $0.06. No joke! I never ever recommend places but someone introduced me to this site and I have been so pleased. You have to wait a bit longer for the prints but at that price, heck, I can wait. FYI...

When I resize my image, I select 72 ppi and in turn the dimensions go to 432x288 and the image is pixelated very badly, I did that the first time posting on a challenge and the images were too hard to see. Then I tried to retain the dimensions and I can now see that the image size goes up to 25" x 16"...so that is where the large size is coming from...However I have done that resizing for months...this is the first time the cards have come through LARGE in the images.

Perhaps I'll see what else I can do. THANKS

Still playing....

I created an album in my profile of all the recipes...I noticed when I uploaded them there are limits set on dimensions 600x600. I wonder if the gallery used to have those same limits. Anyway, all the cards loaded exactly the same size...with exception of the very first card I ever made...and its dimensions were smaller to start with.

I'll learn all the ins and outs yet. :)

Hi, everyone. Sorry to have been "absent" much of this month. I was in charge of a huge meeting for work, so spent a lot of time preparing for it and then being in travel status from last Sunday until yesterday afternoon. I've got a bit of catching up to do, including looking at all the cards in here and my inbox. I'm just in awe of your great work again this month!

P.S. I have all the papers and some of the elements done for April's kit. I hope to have it finished and posted by tomorrow at the latest. In the meantime, be thinking PASTA and ITALIAN! : )

Your card is so cute! I hope the gallery will work for you soon so you can upload it for everyone to see.

I've finished my recipe card and a matching blank but can't get the gallery to let me post there today, so I'll just be emailing it to you today for everybody.

Ditto to what I just said to Janytime -- I hope you'll be able to post your card in the gallery for everyone to see. It looks great!

Im getting the same internal error as Janytime so I too will just email you the card and my blank to match! THANKS

Jenny, not sure what program you're using but try this:

Image -> resize

Change the DPI to 72 first, then go up and re-enter the size as 600 x 400.

See if this helps. :)

Thanks so much for helping each other. I really do appreciate it, especially when I don't get in here to answer. Heck, who am I kidding? You all are much smarter at this than me, anyway! I'd trust your answers over mine in a heartbeat! : ) Seriously, thanks for your help!

And now, my friends, I'm officially closing this thread. I will send download links for these cards to all participants in the next few days, along with a coupon code for April's starter kit. If you don't have those by Wednesday, April 6, send me an e-mail note.

Thanks again for your ongoing support and participation! You make this challenge lots of fun and very rewarding!

Cheesy potatoes can be a main dish! Depending on who is cooking at my house, a peanut butter sandwich is a main dish! Anything goes!

ROFL! I'm going through gathering up challenge participants for the NEW prize system, and I just couldn't help but chuckle at this one!! We've had many a PB & J Dinner at our house! :l

OMG, I need to get out of this thread!!! I'm drooling all over the place here!! Now I know why I steer clear of the Recipe Challenge.... I think I've gained 20lbs just reading these delicious, mouth-watering recipes! Barb, I'm totally trying these for Easter this year, thanks for the recipe!! :DD

Not really a main dish, but Cheesy Potatoes are my favorite at Easter and I could really eat that and nothing else.... So here it is.... Enjoy. (oh, and note the clustering... hint, hint, run over to my clustering challenge this month!)
