Note: you have to have at least 5 posts in the forum to post a layout in the gallery

We will be following the same schedule as the Next Designer Competition:

Round 1: Starts September 1, 6:00 am Ends September 4, 24:00 pm
Round 2: Starts September 8, 6:00 am Ends September 11, 24:00 pm
Round 3: Starts September 15, 6:00 am Ends September 18, 24:00 pm
Round 4: Starts September 22, 6:00 am Ends September 25, 24:00 pm

LAYOUTS

* Use as much of the kit as you can to promote it beautifully, while still keeping your page, including shadows and layers, balanced and eye-catching.

* Pay particular attention to shadows. Shadows should be consistent, all in the same direction, and relative to the distance off the page that particular element would be if real.

* Your layout should be resized to 600 x 600 pixels, 72 dpi, and no more than 120K before uploading to the gallery.

*Once you have uploaded your “official” entry for the week you are not to edit it in any way once it's been placed in the gallery.

* NO use of templates, or sketches, or other wordart or elements will be allowed. Each layout must be your creative work. The only thing you can use is the kit, your photos, and fonts or your own handwriting.

* You can do as many layouts as you wish, but doing more layouts may mean less votes for you in the poll in the long run, since they will be spread over more pages.

A FEW MORE RULES

* Offering freebies or any other incentives for votes is not allowed.

* You can blog about the competition and you can have a banner or blinkie or such in your signature to advertise that you are a contestant

* You can have "Please Vote for Me" in your signature or banner/blinkie or on your blog, just don't offer anything in return for votes in the poll.

GOOD LUCK LADIES :DD

i understand no templates in general...but if i create a shape myself can i cut out a paper with it?

also no WA or alpha's. if kit does not come with an Alpha can we create our own Alpha/WA with papers and elements in the kit using fonts only?

Read and understood....I just have one question: Can I use a photo mask? If not, am I allowed to create my own by using PSE7 default brushes?

Ladies, just a reminder - please post your LO's in the LOA 2011 Gallery under the appropriate week! I'd hate for anyone's LO to be missed in the voting after all your hard work!!

this may have been asked and answered but the truth is at this point its hard to go thru everything. so real quick. WHEN can we show our LO's outside the challenge??? my niece wants to post it on her FB (week1) and i told her not til i said ok.

Hmmm, good question! I'm thinking that as soon as that week's contest is over, you're OK to post elsewhere? Toiny or Janet can correct me if I'm wrong ;)

I think I agree with you, Christine.

I think it's fine to post the previous week's page when the next week's assignment is announced.

To use your example, if you wanted to post your week one layout, then I think you're free to do that as soon as the week 2 assignment is announced.
