View Full Version : Can we keep 'em mom?

Parents have been dealing with kids bringing home random pets forever. I have certainly had my share of stray kittens and bugs, and even a snake once eeewwww.
but I never thought I would become the owner of not one but two baby chickens - well they tell me they are roosters. Why would I want two roosters. They didnt even have enough sence to buy a chicken and a rooster (at least then I would be able to get free eggs from the deal). And yes I did say BUY. :duh:
R$2 for both it was quite a deal. (yeah right). Oh well I guess if the forest predators, dont get to them, and the little girls dont smother them..... :(

I don't think I'd be too thrilled. Best of luck. I do know of some scrappers who raise chickens as household pets.

Having chickens & roosters is a pretty normal thing here where I live. We have a couple down the street that just wander. Sometimes they even follow me to my car. But then again, we also have the horses across the street too. At his dad's ranch, there's all kinds of animals. Most kids around there have cows as pets. Guess you can't bring those inside??!! LOL! Good luck with the chickens, umm I mean Roosters. Did they come with ear plugs?

Thanks for the lovely support ladies. :XX
Chicken & Roosters are very normal here too. Every garbage heap comes complete with half a dozen fowl feasting on whatever has been thrown out.:blech: which is why I refuse to eat any chicken that hasnt come from a certain farm, or my SIL, or from a bag from the freezer section.
I suspect the birds will end up at my SILs house, she has more room, and already has a bunch of chicken/roosters. Her husband is going to come and look at them and see. ;)
I asked the boys if they got them to fight, and they said NO! We got them to eat. :duh: of course.
Life in my Favela.
