Roster of Speed Scraps & General Info
 

This week we are gearing up for our big Scrap-A-Thon on Saturday! Last year our DSD Scrap-A-Thon was a big success. This year we're upping the stakes with 6 hours of Speed Scraps!

Each Designers is handing out a coordinating mini to all participants. As an added bonus, everyone who completes a layout for each hour of the Speed Scraps (by noon EST on Sunday, Nov. 6th) will receive the November Mega: Giving Thanks free. Please post all LO's here: DSD Scrap-A-Thon.

Note: all Speed Scraps will be in the forum and in our Chat Room. Coordinating mini's will be handed out to Chat Room participants only. You must be a registered forum member to log in to chat.

Roster of Scrap-A-Thon hosts:

• 3-4 pm - Min(Deli Scraps)
• 4-5 pm - Toiny(Piggy Scraps Design)
• 5-6 pm - Aimee(Aimee Harrison Design Studios)
• 6-7 pm - Christine(Digilicious Designs)
• 7-8 pm - Michelle(Shelly Marie Scraps)
• 8-9 pm - Tracy (AmboWife Designs)

Yes, instructions will be posted in the forum as well. Yes, you may play along (and win the November mega) by posting in the gallery by Sunday, Nov. 6th.

I am looking for info about time zones for the speed scraps . Because I am in Australia I need to convert the times to see if it is possible to come into the chatroom at the right time.

I added in an official clock up top. Do you see it? That is the right time for all events here at theStudio. It is set to EST (Eastern Standard Time).

no tips, no tricks! Each hour will be run just like a speed scrap, the hostess will post instructions about every 5-10 min in the chatroom, and here in the forum for those who don't like to chat.

BUT! It's very relaxed, and if you don't want to scrap while chatting, you don't have to! All you have to do to get the Mega is post a layout for each hour (6 in all) following the instructions by noon, Tomorrow, Nov. 6th!

WHAT?!?!?!!! 6 hours/6 pages!!!! Well.... we don't call it a Scrap-A-Thon for nothing!!! :DD

Oh... if you want the chat prizes you HAVE to be in the chatroom for that particular hour ;) no exceptions! They're mean like that! :P :)) LOL!! 8D

A speed scrap means your host will give you 1 set of instructions every 10 minutes. You get 6 sets of instruction. Usually you have an hour after the speed scrap ends to post your LO. However, with a Scrap-A-Thon we give you a lot longer! You will have until Noon EST to post your LO's.

You may use any kit, or the mini(s) that will be handed out in chat. However, if you are posting your LO in the Scrap-A-Thon gallery, and working to earn that free November Mega, please use 75% Studio products.

Here are directions from an old Speed Scrap Amber, Ruby Lane Designs, did back in April:

Here are the instructions for our Speed Scrap chat!

1. Choose 4 photos and 3 papers

2. Choose your background paper and cluster 3 of the photos in the top left corner

3. Angle 4th photo in bottom right corner, making sure this is the largest of your photos

4. With the other 2 papers create 2 circles, one about as large as your bottom right photo and the other about half of that. Place the large circle 1/2 way peeking from behind the bottom right photo, place the smaller circle behind the large circle in the same manner

5. Create a cluster around the bottom photo and a similiar cluster around the top cluster of 3 photos going behind and inbetween on top etc.

6. Place 1 string or 1 ribbon behind bottom photo on top of circles and a bit of bling behind that.

7. Title your LO with a combo of an alpha and a font!
