JANUARY CHALLENGE
 

Hi ladies, sorry about MIA but my Mum has been really ill, and I just haven't had the time.
I know most of you are USA based, but here in Australia we have our version of your 4th July on the 26th of January, so I am really going to give you a challenge this month, make a card for all us Aussie girls for our Australia Day. I know you will all do a great job. I am going to give the Card Challenge the same job, so hunt out those Aussie things.

Here's my ATC, borrowing from a poster for the event. It was so cute, I just HAD to use it.

BTW, I liked the poster so much, I've used it for a new avatar!

I don't have anything for Australia, but I can do a red,white and blue atc.

According to information from the web, symbols of Australia Day include the flag, the Golden Wattle (National Flower) and the opal (National Gemstone), plus the colors yellow and green. I found images of stamps from Australia to create the background and then imposed the flag in the shape of the country, the flowers, and opals. The lyrics to the National Anthem are in green and yellow.

Ladies you all did an awesome job with your Aussie cards, I love them. I am sorry that I won't be around for a few months, my Mum is having to be put in a home and I am having a hard time trying to find a good one, it's just taking all my time at the moment. She had a bad fall in the hospital, she has an egg the size of a golf ball on her head, is bruised all down her left side, very badly on her hip area and has cracked her pelvis, 3 weeks on and she still looks like she's been in the boxing ring.
I think Angel is coming back to look after you, and I know some of you do the card challenge as well, I have had to pull out for a few months but I will be back as soon as I have Mum settled in a home.
