Recipe Card Exchange ~ Christmas in July 2012
Recipe Card Challenge Gallery
* * * * * * * Hi, everyone. I'm excited to host a recipe card "swap" for our “Christmas in July” celebration here at theStudio. The instructions are basically the same as our normal monthly recipe card challenge with one big difference: for this exchange, there is a required color palette, but the rest is up to you! Here’s the palette we’ll be using: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...lorPalette.png 1. I have created a freebie kit you can use if you want – it is available here. I’ve also created a full starter kit that has lots of fun elements and papers you can use on your card(s). It will be on sale through the end of July and is available here. Another option is using papers and elements from theStudio’s December 2011 “Reindeer Games” mega kit available here. And last: feel free to use your own designs or pieces from other kits as long as you follow the applicable TOU. 2. The general theme for this card exchange is your favorite recipe for Christmas cookies. If you don’t have a cookie recipe but have another treat you like to make during the holidays, feel free to create a card with that instead. 3. Create your original card at 6" wide X 4" tall (1800 and 1200 pixels) and save it as a 300 ppi jpeg, quality between 8 to 10. These are the print-quality cards that will be shared with all participants. You will also need to resize your card at 72 ppi to post in the gallery. WHEN FINISHED with your card(s), do the following 3 things: 1. E-mail your print-quality, 300 ppi recipe card to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com so it can be included in the download file at the end of the month. Do not share your print-quality card on your blogs or through any other means without my prior approval. Several participants have also asked for blank copies of the cards you design, so if you're willing to send me both (with and without the words), that would be great! 2. Upload a picture of your 72 ppi card to the Recipe Card Challenge Gallery. Please upload only your actual recipe card ~ not the blank cards. You may also post a copy of your 72 ppi (web version) on your blog if you’d like, and then include a link to the forum in case others are interested and want to participate. 3. Post a link here in this forum thread no later than July 31. At the end of the month, all participants will receive a link to download all the cards created that month. Bon appétit!! http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...iew-Bundle.jpg |

Re: Recipe Card Exchange ~ Christmas in July 2012
I have my all-time favorite cookie recipe picked out. I crashed my PC last week and it is still down, however, I hope I have everything I need to create recipe cards on my laptop. I'll work on it this week.
July 26th: my PC crashed a second time after getting it fixed. Somehow I got a very nasty virus that recreated itself and that my antivirus program let through the first time. BUT I did manage to use my laptop to create a recipe card. Here is the link: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...mon-stars.html One day I'll learn how to post the picture here. |

Re: Recipe Card Exchange ~ Christmas in July 2012
I tried to see what I could do with the freebie kit...sometimes I get to overwhelmed with too many elements and papers. I did mess with the saturation some (hope that is okay), and I did add a textured overlay to grunge up the plain color. Anyway...here is my card, and the gallery link.

I just had to go and buy the full recipe card kit. It is gorgeous and has a Christmas Train. It will also be great for making my Christmas Cards for my grandsons.
Thank you for hosting this challenge, Maurine. I really do enjoy doing the recipe card challenges. |
