January Border Challenge!
Thank you all for your great participation in my Border Challenges! I truly enjoy seeing all the variations on whatever theme we are working on for the month!
This month I would like to challenge you to edge your border. What??? .. you ask? Here is what I mean: Cherly, from my Creative Team, created this beautiful border, and I love how she edged the top border curve with the darker blue scallops. (Kit: Jack Frost & Friends). So here are the rules: * Create a layout with a border, and edge that border with anything - scallops, stars, stitching.. whatever.. * You may use any kit you wish. * Post your layout in the Surprise Me Border Challenge Gallery * Come back here and post your preview and a link to the Surprise Me Border Challenge Gallery in this thread. This makes it super simple for us to find your layouts in the gallery, and we thank you for taking this extra step! What do you earn by participating? Well, theStudio offers a 10% discount on ALL of your purchases for the following month. So, if you participate this month and get a layout posted (AND post a link here in this forum), you will receive 10% off every purchase made next month! No coupons are required. The discount will automatically be applied to your purchase. How easy is that? And YES, this is on top of any sales prices too. |

Re: January Border Challenge!
Hey Norma! Glad to have you home. Will be looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Hi Pam, Love your photo, and the vintage layout you have created for it. Love the diagonal border too! Elk Fan, this is lovely! I love the photo blend (such a cutie!), and the edge , stitching, and paper bordering the glitter really adds great interest! Yez2psp, What a beautiful page, love the clustering you have done, with all of the layering.. very lovely! And I see you put your border edging on the straight edge, instead of the curved edge. Nice take on the idea here! Karen, what a fun night this looks to have been! Your border fits it perfectly! Cathy, this is darling. What an adorable little guy! Love how you have edged your border with the beads! And how you tucked the frame between both borders. |

There are wonderful pages in the gallery.
Here's mine http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...orderFinal.jpg Karen, since this has become a monthly challenge is there any way you can give us a tutorial or two on how to make the wonderful curvy borders you use? |
Re: January Border Challenge!
Arrrggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh so annoyed right now!!
This LO was not how I wanted it to end up, but I lost the whole page due to my program crashing and I hadn't saved it on the program, however I did save it as an image to see how it looked. I was playing around with the shading colours and I do like the way it looked but I wanted to change the borders to black and the hearts on the border to black and pop them back under the top border, but it was so much work initially I am not going to, so although it is a little unfinished and not how I want it I am still pleased with the end result http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...udio_-_Jan.jpg gallery Link http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...e-january.html http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...g"</a> /> |
