LOA Contest Week 4

This is open to everyone. You may participate even if you did not participate last week. Please see the General Rules for contest-wide specifics.

This is our last week. I'm both sad & excited to see your final round entries. This week it will be a little extra work for you all... because... I'd like to see a 2-page layout! I like matching pages in my books, and in the middle of my book, most of the book, I want to coordinate not only the papers & elements, but also the fonts & photo's.

There are some rules to this challenge, read through them carefully. There is no freebie this week, there is no restriction on what kits or templates you use. This is a tougher challenge and I want you to really express yourself. Of course use of our products is appreciated, but not required.

Rules:
  1. You must do a 2-page spread.
  2. Post only ONE image in the Layout Artist Contest gallery
  3. You must include at least 2 photo's per page (at least 4 photo's total)
  4. It should all be one theme (birthday, vacation, first day of school, all about you, etc.)
  5. Your two pages must coordinate (same colors, theme, style)
  6. You MUST give all credits in your description.
  7. All layouts must be posted by Saturday, April 27 @ 3:00 pm EST
Good luck! I'm very excited to see these!

Silly? question: How looks a 2-page spread? Two separate pages 600x600px or 1 page 600x600 px divided in half

It's 2 separate pages - side by side. So 2 - 12 x 12 or 8.5 x 11, whatever size you create at.

Re: LOA Contest Week 4

I usually do 12X12 @ 300dpi pages, so my double page would be 24X12 @ 300dpi

you can see some examples in my gallery here:

Double Page: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...tendouble.html
Right Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...rtenright.html
Left Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...artenleft.html

Double Page: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...merdouble.html
Right Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...summerpg2.html
Left Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...summerpg1.html

Double Page: www.digitalscrapbookingstudio.com/gallery/member-galleries/p78000-hawaiidouble-page.html
Right Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...irainbows.html
Left Side: http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...tiful-day.html

For this challenge, T ONLY wants the Double image uploaded to the gallery, so when you are done making your double, do the "Save For Web" and change the width to 600px, it should automatically change the height for you ;)

Well, I hope I did it right!! Took me most of the day, but once I started I just couldn't quit. :) I just noticed you can barely see the seam...I guess that's a good thing?

This was a real challenge - but lots of fun to do.

http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...age_-_feli.jpg

Used Natural Beauty kit by Feli Designs

Changes to kit elements -
Dark Brown Frame had the center portion removed so only a narrow edge was left
Redish Gold Frame made from paper in kit
Swirls had a gold style applied

Other shapes made using a cookie cutter and papers

Photos scanned in and repaired; then enhanced with Saturated Film effect to bring out the colors

That's amazing! I know how hard these can be & I'm so impressed at the ones you've already put up since yesterday. Love!

Re: LOA Contest Week 4

I don't do 2-page spreads often, but I do love them!! :)

are we allowed to use a template, or should we design completely on our own?

A Boy and his worm "Broke"
http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...k-4-Apr-13.jpg

This was my grandsons first encounteur with a worm, and the conversation is the actual one between him and Mommy.

Journaling:
Mommy: What’s the worms name?
Boy: Broke
Mommy: Broke is his name?
Boy: Yeah....it’s not a worm, it’s a snake
Mommy: No, it’s a worm.
Boy: His brother had to stay home
Mommy: Can you touch the worm?
Boy: No....Me don’t want to touch it.
Mommy Are you scared?
Boy: .Yes
Mommy: Oops....he fell.
Boy: .Are you OK down there Broke?
Mommy: Is he alive?
Boy: He’s not dead
Mommy: Can you touch it?
Boy: Yeah...me touch it.
Boy: It moved Mommy,
Boy: it’s alive.

Awesome layouts ladies! Toiny, I am unable to find the Vintage Birthday collab link. If anyone knows it, I would be happy to post it in my gallery. Thank you.
