Template Exchange

Hello friends! Welcome to Two Moose Designs Back 2 School Template Exchange! We are so glad you decided to play with us!

Rules are easy, create a template and then share it! Simply post a download link to share with us all! There are some instructions on how to create a template from a layout here and here is a You Tube link to create a template from scratch! Are you unable to create them, don't want to? Just scrap with our template and share your layout here! Post your template or layout in the gallery here!

We will randomly draw one participant at the end of the month to win a set of Moose Maps from our store! Hooray!

We'll get us started with a template for all of you! It comes in PSD, TIFF, PNG, PAGE and SBPAGE format! Here is what it looks like-

and here is what I made with it!

I only know how to make templates in Scrapbook Max so that won't help anyone.

Re: Template Exchange

WOW! I got the template made - in PSE7 the directions didn't work but I figured it out (how cool is that for a senior grannie!). I do know how to upload it to box. BUT ... adding a TOU and a small jpeg has me back to square 1 of not knowing.....:(

GrannieEv 08-16-2013 01:05 PM

Re: Template Exchange

have to add - my TOU would be "whatever you want to use it for - go for it"

Re: Template Exchange

LOL! If it's as simple as that, just add a notepad document with those "rules" and your name - just so if someone uses it, they can credit it back to you ;)

Once you have the template made & saved it as a layered PSD or Tiff, you can merge all the layers together (highlight them all by holding down ctrl + clicking on each layer and then press ctrl+E to merge) and then just save that as a Jpeg - pretty much the same way you would create the jpeg from a LO to post to the gallery.

Throw everything (PSD, TOU, JPEG) into a folder & zip it up! Um, unfortunately, I use a program called WinRAR to zip my stuff, so I'm unsure of the instructions on how to zip just using WinZip.... anyone?? After it's zipped, you can upload, post to the gallery and add your download link :DD

Can't wait to see it!! It's always fun to learn new things, isn't it?!! :DD

Re: Template Exchange

I'm sorry to belabor this "fun" challenge... to save the PSD files I'd just save as (jpeg).
I'm confused as to how someone will use the template if it's flattened.
I know WinRar so I'll try the zipping in that (I know you'll find this hard to believe but I've never zipped up a file.... ;)

Re: Template Exchange

Never mind the question about flattened... I see that I'm to zip the PSD and JPEG files so they'll get both. I think my brain is working itself slowly through this.

kimberkatt 08-16-2013 01:51 PM

Re: Template Exchange

You're actually going to save the template twice - once as a PSD, keeping the layers separated - and once as a flattened Jpeg - the Jpeg is just for preview purposes :)

No worries on the questions, I bet there are at least a handful of people reading that needed this info, too ;)

I am now permanently exhausted! You designers and hostesses go through this all the time: OMGoodGolly I met myself coming and going - there's not enough bread crumbs in the universe to repeat this!

Re: Template Exchange

I am SO excited to see some of you stepping outside of your comfort zone and giving this a try! The point is to challenge you and it's SO fun to see that! Way to go Grannie Ev on making it through (it gets easier)! MeleahG, you too! Awesome work (love the circles)!!!
