**CLOSED** Week 1 Challenge

Week 1: Morning Memories Collaboration by Jilberts Bites & Bytes, The Urban Fairy and Nibbles Skribbles

https://www.digitalscrapbookingstudi...ies_Collab.jpg

Welcome to Week 1! We're excited to have you! You should be receiving/have received a PM with your coupon to pick up this beautiful collab shortly (these will be sent sometime on 9/2 & 9/3 to those who have signed up in the Sign Up thread).

Requirements: Create 2 beautiful layouts using this collab. Each layout must use at least 1 piece (paper or element) by each of the contributing designers. Each layout must be uploaded to the LO Contest Week 1 Gallery. Each layout must include full credits as well as a link to where the product can be found in the store. All requirements must be met to be included in the poll at the end of the week. If you chose to pick up the bundle or any of the extras with this kit, you may NOT use the clusters or stacked backgrounds for your layouts. Additionally, you may not use a template to create your page. It must be uniquely yours.

Your layout is due 9/7 by 11:59 EST. We have a clock in the forum for you to use. Late layouts will not be counted for this round!

I will edit this post to put round specific Q&A information.

General Rules/Information (AKA: The Fine Print….)

* Each week will require you to complete 2 unique layouts. Please read each weeks instructions carefully and follow all instructions! Questions are welcome! Layouts that do not meet requirements will be excluded from votes.

* This is a non-elimination contest, with weekly winners (all announced at the end of the month). You may compete 1 week or all 4 or anywhere in between!

* There will be a public poll available from Saturday - Sunday each week. There will also be private voting done by theStudio design team. The scores from each will be combined to determine a winner.

* Polls will be created by username not by layout. Look at each layout by the contestants and choose your favorites when making your decisions. Each contestant will have 2 layouts for you to look at when making your decision.

* If the same contestant wins multiple weeks, the second place contestant will be offered a CT spot instead. We will be adding 4 new scrappers to the store CT!

* Each week a random contestant will win a fabulous prize! Additionally, any contestant participating all 4 weeks will receive the September store Mega, and 1 lucky participant will win a new EHD. All prize winners will be announced at the end of the month.

* Current Studio CT members may play along. We will open a separate gallery (it will be the same one for all 4 weeks) for current CT to post their layouts too. CT playing along will need to sign up each week, but will not be eligible for any of the prizes. This includes Studio Design team members.

Re: Week 1 Challenge

I save my previews at 600x600 72dpi ... however, on a web page, the dpi makes little difference. A browser renders an image at the pixel resolution ... for example 600 x 600 pixels at 72dpi looks exactly the same as 600 x 600 pixels at 300dpi. I'm not sure how PSE works, but in Photoshop, I use "Save for Web" to save out my previews with the settings of 600x600 pixels at 100% quality. If I have a file size restriction, I click on the little the little triangle in the upper right-hand corner and select "Optimize to File Size" and enter a file size (after adjusting the Image Size on the initial screen).

What size do we make them for the gallery? 72 pixels or 300 pixels? If I save at 72 it is all blurry. I use PhotoShop Elements 6.

Re: Week 1 Challenge

You know, I always read that you should use 72, but I always use 300 and I never have a problem. I honestly don't understand the difference.

Re: Week 1 Challenge

Ang I believe at 72dpi and 600 x 600
