Simple Salad Dressing
I started making my own salad dressing when I had was pregnant and had gestational diabetes. My DH now prefers it over any sort of bottled brand, and so do I. I've gotten raves anytime i've made it for anyone else, too. Here's my secret recipe (shhhhh....) - it's so easy!
2 parts olive oil - for 2 people, approx. 4Tbs. 1 part balsamic vinegar - approx. 2 Tbs. 1 packet splenda (approx. 1tsp.) McCormick Garlic Pepper Grinder (I use around 10 cranks, approx. 1tsp.) dash of salt optional 2Tbs. orange juice Whisk all ingredients together and pour over salad greens. Toss & go! My very favorite salad to put this over is a mix of the following: Mixed Greens or just baby spinach mandarin orange segments craisins toffee flavored pecans or toffee flavored almonds crumbled blue cheese or shaved parmesean *toss in some fresh blueberries, strawberries, raspberries too if you have them on hand! |
This sounds yummy! I wish I had some lettuce in the fridge right now, because a salad would hit the spot. I guess I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow.

This sounds great! I am going to have to try this.

This is not just a great salad dressing but also makes a great marinade for chicken breasts. I have been using something like this for years and it makes them so juicy and tender! Even on the barbecue.

This does sound good, I have not had a salad in a while that was not at a restaurant. Might leave out the orange juice unless it was an oriental type salad with mandarin organges in it.

This recipe sounds very healthy.(calorie wise)
