December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
Here are the instructions for this month's recipe card challenge/exchange:
1. Click HERE for this month's starter kit; it will be free to those who participated in the prior month's challenge. Please use this kit (or papers/elements you design in the same color palette) so the cards will "coordinate" and to ensure we don't violate other designers' TOU. 2. The general theme for this month's cards is HOLIDAY TREATS. Think candies, cookies, caramel corn, popcorn balls, rice krispie treats, peanut brittle, gingerbread, fudge, etc. If you consider the recipe a "treat", then go for it! I'd love to see some cards that include "recipes in a jar" ~ for hot cocoa mix, cookies, or other ideas you have. Be creative and have fun! If you need different tags for your card(s), send me an e-mail and I'll make them for you. 3. Design your recipe card(s) however you'd like. Include your name, forum name, e-mail address ~ whatever you want ~ on the card. 4. Create your original card at 6" wide X 4" tall (1800 and 1200 pixels) and save it as a 300 ppi jpeg, quality of 10. These are the print-quality cards that will be shared with all participants. You will also need to resize your card at 72 ppi to post in the gallery. WHEN FINISHED with your card(s), do the following 3 things: 1. E-mail your print-quality, 300 ppi recipe card to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com so it can be included in the download file at the end of the month. Several participants have asked for blank copies of the cards you design, so if you're willing to send me both (with and without the words), that would be great! As a bonus in December, you'll get 5 store points for your blank card(s). 2. Upload a picture of your 72 ppi card to the Recipe Card Challenge Gallery. You only need to upload your actual recipe card ~ not the blank cards. 3. Post a link here in this forum thread no later than December 31 so you'll be eligible for your store points. At the end of the month, all participants will receive your points and a link to download all the cards created that month. Bon appétit!! Reminder about POINTS EARNED for completing this challenge: • You'll earn 10 points for the first recipe card and 5 points for each additional card. • If you complete all theStudio challenges this month, you'll earn a 100 point BONUS. • 100 points = $1 to the store. • Points may be redeemed at any time. Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
I got home from work last night and turned on my computer so I could gather everyone's e-mail addresses and get the coupon codes out -- and my computer wouldn't boot up! It took several tries, and the computer trying to fix itself, before I was able to log on. So I spent the next few hours backing up a lot of work and CU purchases I couldn't afford to lose. Yikes!!
Anyway, my plan is -- computer willing -- to get the coupon code out tonight when I get home from work. Hang in there with me -- can't wait to see your recipe cards using this fun kit! |
Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
Hi guys - thought I'd join in the fun... Here's mine. I absolutely love this toffee recipe. I make it for all our friends for Christmas and they usually come back with the empty container the next day asking for more!

Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
Oh Maurine, you poor thing...during the summer I had some work done on my computer and the "jerk" erased everything. I was devastated. Thank goodness, all of the good people I had bought digi materials from were so nice to reload my purchases, when I explained the circumstances, so I could get them back even though it took me weeks to get everything and reload my computer. I went the next day and bought another EHD. Think that makes #4 now. One scare was enough for me. LOL

Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
I just sent the coupon code for December's starter kit to all November participants that I had e-mail addresses for. If you did not get that message from me, send me a private message here or an e-mail to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com and I'll make sure you get it.
Can't wait to see your cards! Just seeing Barb's in the gallery makes me smile ~ I love this starter kit! And I'm really looking forward to getting and trying some new recipes this month. |
Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
I adore this kit and I'm looking forward to deciding which recipes to use but first, I have a quick question. Someone sent in a recipe for homemade kaluah and it sounded wonderful. Trouble was, in the instructions it said to add coffee. In the list of ingredients,, no coffee was listed. Please, could the person who sent that recipe in give us that very important ingredient/amount. Thanks.
And Maurine, I can really relate to your computer problems. Have been having trouble with my almost new computer, then the printer, also, almost new stopped communicating with the computer. Then after spending literally hours trying to figure out what was wrong and on the phone with the printer technicians and getting nothing resolved I was getting so frustrated. Seems my computer which runs on Windows 7 doesn't like the IE-9 and everything messes up. Another several hours of trying to uninstall IE-9 so I could reinstall an earlier version when I turned the computer off for the night and then back on in the morning I got a message that windows/IE were not working. I couldn't even use my Photoshop Elements or my WordPerfect until something was done. It had some kind of automatic fix-it. It took several more hours for it to sort of fix itself. After about a week of these recurring problems I'm finally able to use it again. Please keep your fingers crossed. Thanks to all who shared their recipes and cards. I'm looking forward to getting them. and have a Merry Christmas. |

Re: December 2010 Recipe Card Challenge
Here's my first attempt at a recipe card. It's my current cookie obsession. My mother found it online somewhere, but she can't remember where! If anyone recognizes it, let me know!
