See how the edges are incredibly crisp? This might happen on a nice, tight, satin-y cotton or gloss paper but not on a well-textured fabric/paper. There is a very quick & easy solve for this: gaussian blur.

Just go to Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur:

Play with the blur Radius a little. I wound up using 1.7 pixels in my example, but this can vary depending on the size of your pattern. Note how natural the blurred-pattern looks after the Gaussian Blur has been applied. It's little touches like this that make for a truly professional kit.

Note: Be sure to apply the Gaussian Blur to your pattern layer and not your overlay/texture layer.
