Week 4: Reflections
Hello all!
Welcome to Week 4 of our Capture the Moment LO Contest. This week all layouts must be created using Skrapper Digitals Artistic Heritage Collection Autumn Reflections mega kit. Artistic Heritage Collection Autumn Reflections http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...ahc_ar_pv1.jpg We are continuing our path down the four season. This week our focus is fall. Your assignment is "Reflections" and there are two directions you may take to interpret this theme. The first is to reflect on a loss, whether that be a person, pet or time in your life. It is a difficult topic, but one that happens frequently in all our lives. The second is to reflect on you, more of an introspection, have it be a profile of who you are... whether that be you past or present.

Re: Week 4: Reflections
This is a beautiful kit! I really like the theme as well; it's a difficult one as you say but one I find to be therapeutic to scrap. Thank you for the lovely kit and the great challenge.

Re: Week 4: Reflections
Wow! Okay. This is going to be a challenge this week. I could go with the obvious and make another page for my grandfather's memory book, or I could go in a different direction. I'll have to mull this over and see where inspiration takes me.
Thank you for the gorgeous kit. Having worked with a number of Sherah's kits over the years, I can say, even before I download and unzip it, that this is a wonderful gift. |
Re: Week 4: Reflections
Definitely thought provoking this week! I have a couple of ideas mulling around already...will have to see what pans out!

I can't believe I finished today! Usually it takes me awhile to finish! I was inspired by my subject and by the artistic beauty of this kit.

Toiny,
Is it to late to do the WK 4 of the Capture the Moment LO? I just finished Martha & Bob's 50th Anniversary Gift that I have been working on for about 2 months. I made 42 12by12" scrapbook pages. and just to it to the printer this morning. Please pm if it is possible to make a LO. Hugs, Marilyn Nay |

Re: Week 4: Reflections
This was a tough one for sure! I literally worked all day long on this, first fussing over the wording (I really got personal, not something I like to do online) and then with fussing over what to use and how to place it, just right, in my layout. But since I'll not have a chance to even turn on my computer for the next couple of days, I had to call this done.
Here's my layout (linked to the gallery). http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...d4_MyHeart.jpg Thank you Toiny and Sherah for this most gorgeous kit. I know for sure that I'll be using it again in the future. ;) Best of luck to everyone... and also to the judges, I'm SURE the voting on this round will be more difficult then the previous 3! |
Re: Week 4: Reflections
Here's mine:
http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...2010-03-05.jpg This was a very emotional challenge. I initially thought I'd do a layout about the three deaths we had in my family in 2010, my paternal grandmother, my maternal grandmother's brother, and my maternal grandfather (he of the war stories). But in plotting it out, I decided to focus on the strange coincidence that my father and his mother both died at approximately the same time, on the same day, 33 years apart. |
Re: Week 4: Reflections
Here is my entry. My grandfather's death was something I hadn't scrapped yet. I did a memorial book for the family for Christmas last year but scrapping the family gatherings hadn't happened yet. The Christmas project was emotional.
Sherah, I must say its great to know i'm not the only one using GIMP to scrap. I enjoy the tutorials on your site, Save the Green. |
Re: Week 4: Reflections
My apologies for going through the gallery slowly, these are very moving LO's and it takes a bit to process each. What a beautiful, but tough, assignment. You are all doing an amazing job.
Smooches, Toiny |
