NDC 2011: Round 2 "Summer Afternoon"
 

Congratulations again! That was a very tough challenge and you deserve an extra round of applause for moving on. The first round gave you a very difficult palette to work with, a very difficult kit to preview. This round that part is easier. You are being given a preview template, and you must use this preview template to preview your kit.





<FONT color=#231f20>You are also being given a name “Summer Afternoon”, which you must use as your kit name & title. Summer afternoon is also your kit theme. However, the palette is completely up to you! All previews must be posted in the Annual Next Designer Contest Gallery: NDC 2011: Round 2. Please post your download links there as well. You may use any outside host including 4shared/rapidshare/boxnet etc. You must use ZIP files only. Do not use RAR. You may blog all you like about the contest.<o:p></o:p>

Voting will be done by theStudio Design & Admin teams only.
Round 2 kit will be due September 12, 2011 by 23:59 EST.
Round 2 results will be posted September 15, 2011 by 6:00 am EST.

I have worked hard to make these rules as clear and easy to understand as possible. However, if you have any questions please post here or PM me. I will take all questions and create a separate round 2 FAQ for everyone to benefit (I will leave your name off).

wonderful challenge, TYSM Toiny, but I have a question, only one little confusion:

The preview template does not include a template for the kit title, part of your challenge is to make a fantabulous, eye-catching kit title. I have to say, with every kit I make this is always one of my biggest challenge.

The tittle of the kit must be “Summer Afternoon”, so when you say here:

, you are talking about a second tittle ?
OMG, I think you are talking about the font, the way the tittle should be expose?
did I understand it right?

Hmmm let me try to answer this Karen.

The kit name is : Summer Afternoon. On a preview, when you add the kit name, this is the title. I want to see how good you make the "Summer Afternoon" words look on the preview.

Is that better?

should we include our color swatch on the preview so you know we kept with the colors?

and also - alpha counts as 1 element, right?

There is no need to include your swatch on the preview. That is a matter of personal preference, not a requirement.

And, yes, an Alpha is 1 element.

It's 100 where I live today. Although I WISH I were thinking of Fall, Summer is still quite prominent in my mind - so a perfect challenge! ;)

found my color palette! gonna be hard to think summer.. it's pretty chilly here lately..but i love working with warm, bold colors..so off i go! ^_^

Create exactly 6 papers, either jpg or png<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com<img src=" /><o:p></o:p> Create 20 elements <o:p></o:p>

• Include at least 1 cluster<o:p></o:p>
• The cluster does not have to be unique

can we create more than 20 elements ?
if not, is the cluster #21 or one of the 20
assuming the 20 are to be unique like in challenge 1, true?

Another great challenge, and a new palette, also a good time for learning how to make colors work together. I'm excited!
