Sometimes when I create a layout, I want the photograph to be the only thing on the page, except perhaps for a date and/or very little text. Yet at the same time, I want some added interest. I have found that borders really come in handy when I find myself in this spot!
My challenge to you this month is to create a layout where you use one photograph to tell your story, and then create a border to coordinate with your page. You may use any kit you like, and you may also use templates if you desire. Please post your layout HERE in the Surprise Me! Challenge Gallery by the last day of the month. Then come back and post your layout here in this thread so we can see, with a quick glance, the amazing work you have done! What do you earn by participating? Well, theStudio offers a 10% discount on ALL of your purchases for the following month. So, if you participate this month and get a layout posted (AND post a link here in this forum), you will receive 10% off of every purchase made next month! No coupons are required. The discount will automatically be applied to your purchase. How easy is that? And YES, this is on top of any sales prices too. I can't wait to see what you come up with! Here is mine, using one of my borders from Dreamin of Daisies!

I love the look of these kind of pages. Sometimes the photo is just so fabulous - you just have to show it off. As you've done here - fabulous looking. I'm going to try and sneak some time in and do one myself!

I was wondering what photo I could use for this challenge. Happen to walk outside this morning and saw that my special Sunrise Day Lily was in full bloom. So glad I got a photo of it then as by this afternoon the heat was causing it to wilt slightly.
![]() Thanks for the challenge this month. Making the border was loads of fun.

I've been trying to figure out what to do with this pic since I took it last May, I love how this turned out! And that's her big brother stepping up to the plate in the background! I was actually trying to take a picture of him!

Thanks, Darlene and Claire. This was truly a lucky shot. I was focusing in on th center of the flower when I noticed the lady bug. I quickly changed my point of focus, snapped, and within a millisecond that little ladybug had scurried over the edge of the flower!
Your bird photo, Claire, looks just like a split second in time as well! Lovely capture, and your border is equally lovely! Your flower shot is beautiful, Kay! I love that the flowers are so new that they aren't any hot spots or blemishes on them! Beautiful border too! Love the yellows and the wood look! I live about an hour away from Lake Arrowhead, Dona, and my brother-in-law and his family live there year round. A beautiful capture of this lake, and I love the border you created! The grassy element and dragon fly are just so perfect here! Jody, your capture of this adorable little girl absolutely must have center stage, just as you have done here! The border is just lovely, so sweet and feminine, capturing the colors she is wearing. Beautifully done! Thanks to everyone for joining in!!! I look forward to seeing some other borders and awesome photos here! Invite your friends! |

This is adorable! I love the border you created, with the sand and paw prints. The grass and driftwood just carried my eyes right up that border! Lovely! Thanks for joining in the Border Challenge!

I have been out of town, and was happy to come back and see more of your great borders!
Your photos are great, and all worthy of taking top billing in your layouts! That carnival ride looks rather frightening to me though! Used to love those things, though! The photo of Tiana is just darling, and the young girl in yours, debdux, is just pure fun. Love the harbor photo, sandie; it makes me want to go on vacation! All of your borders really add to your layouts, I believe. You've done a really nice job. Thanks for playing along!!
