I think too much shadowing can sometimes make layouts look a little blurry on the web...........not saying this is so with your pages, but just a thought. Also, have you tried sharpening the flattened image before saving for the web.

I have noticed that when using grungy papers they sometimes seem blurry in the galleries.

Both of yours are gorgeous!

First, what program do you use to scrap/save with? Once I know this, I will be able to help

In PS or PSE, there is a "save for web" feature that works very well to preserve sharpness when resizing for the web.

Honestly, I don't see much blur on your pages, though. Could your screen resolution have been changed accidentally? I only ask because it's happened to me before, and everything looked blurry to me

Hi I use scrapbook max, not photoshop, The shadowing has never been a problem before here I have done al sorts of shadowing...

Grungy papers, hmm interesting...but I didn't use them for the last picture.

Only my LO's look blurry on this site not on others....It's a mystery!!

Hi Kaye,

Both your layouts are gorgeous!! When I use Scrapbook Max I publish my layouts at 100% quality and that seems to cut down on the blurriness on the web. Hope that helps. I used to publish at 80 - 85% quality and I noticed that the layouts were more blurry in the galleries. Here is an example of one I saved at 100% MY GALLERY.

One possible problem might be that you saved your layouts at 650 x 650 dpi and I believe the gallery photos are 600 x 600 dpi which means your layouts had to be sized down. How well the layouts look after being resized depends on the script used to do it. It's possible that the other sites have better scripts for doing this. You might try resizing them yourself at 600 x 600 dpi and see how they come out.

LOL!!! I only knew that because it happened to me a while back ... the site had a warning that it was going to reduce the size of my preview and that I might want to do it myself. Having a background in graphics programming and knowing what might happen, I decided to test it out in the hopes things had changed (been out of the business for over 3 years now). Sure enough, after seeing the result, I decided to reduce the size myself (things hadn't changed). Glad I was able to help!

I generally do it 600x600 for this site, but another I am on has a differernt setting and my program, scrapbook max, seems to revert back to 650x650

All is well now thanks again Jill
