July 2008 - My SAS-y Self Challenge

Wow, June was super busy and seemed to fly by. We're already about to begin July and before we know it, summer will be over. We need a new challenge!

Every American knows that July 4 is our country's Independence Day, so in honor of that, this month's challenge is to create a layout about YOUR country. I know we have lots of people world-wide on this site, and it will be fun to see all the different layouts.

The challenge will run from July 1-31. Please use a kit from the SAS-y store (or any freebie by an SAS designer) to create your layout, post to the My SAS-y Self gallery, and come back to this forum to post a link to the gallery so we can all ooh-and-aah over what you made!

This month's posting bonus kit is called "Sunset at Sea." You're going to love the color combination in this kit - I know I do! Here's my contribution and the posting bonus for this challenge:

Darlene, i have completed a lay-out for this category, but i surely cannot find the upload link to put it in the gallery! HELP! Please email me and let me know how to find the up-load link, and i really don't know how to find the links when i post to a gallery, so please tell me how i find the that link so i can post it here. i don't post LOs to galleries very often, but i really, really, really love the posting bonus, so i've completed a LO, but i need help getting it posted. Thanks!

If you look at Darlene's post (the first one where she describes the challenge and shows the PB) you'll see she says to "post to the My SAS-y Self gallery". The words 'My SAS-y Self gallery' are linked to the gallery, all you have to do is click on it.

Once you are in the correct gallery, if you look a bit under your user name, on the right, you will see the words 'Upload Photos' (as shown in the sample image below). Just click on those words and fill in the information for the various fields. Be sure that your LO is not any wider or longer than 600 pixels though or it may cause errors in uploading.

i usually scrap in 8.5x11, so that is the size for this LO that will eventually go in my family scrapbook.

I didn't use a lot of extras as the flag covered the backgroung the the Bull is actually a whiskey ad logo. Here

I have dual citizenship since my Dad is foreign-born and wasn’t a naturalized citizen yet when I was born. For this challenge, I figured there will probably be multiple layouts for the American part of me, but likely not for the tiny republic of my Father’s birth!

This page will be the first in the heritage books I’m doing for my brother and cousins (hopefully for Christmas)

WooHoo, think this is the last one for the monthly challenges & the Sunset at Sea kit. I have done 12 challenges & hope that was all & I didn't miss any.
