Hybrid 101: Sharing the Love | Day 9: Embellish & Ask Q's

Today’s another fun & easy day! We're finishing all of our fun page embellishment/assembly and I'm here to answer any questions you have about hybrid. It's a great day to get caught up if you're behind or just spend some happy scrapping time working on your book.

I'll check in throughout the day so if you have questions ask away!

1. Finish embellishing your pages & covers.

here is my almost finished book. Just waitng for the last class on binding.

Ok, we're stuck. We want to use jelly beans, or jam, or jar, but my backed up kits which have all those items are not opening right. and we can't find any vegetables in our stash for V. nor can we think of something for x, especially something we'd have a scrapbooking element for... Aaaaaaaaugh! I want to get this printed!!!

I'm "reeeeaaally" (to quote my 6-yr old) hoping to get this printed today!
But nope, I don't have a violin, van, or any X-men, LOL!!
I'm actually going through all my kits I can access one by one, searching wildly for any element that starts with those letters!
V and X to go, still open for ideas...

Can you go ahead print & add those elements later?? i did that for one page in my book.Or just journal in a fun way about those elements on those pages? I can feel your son's anxiousness to get the book printed & it would be sad if he got discouraged. Sometimes when I get in a spot similar to this I have to stop & decide: do I want it perfect & not get it done or is good enough good enough & have something to show for my work. You could even journal how hard it was to find those right elements & your son' helping you etc.. Don't make this fun project too hard is my suggestion.Somehow make your empass fun.Maybe your son could draw the elements or find in a magazine. I guess I am just as anxious as your son to see your book!lololol Sounds like you have a fantastic project & wonderful time with your son! How wonderful

How about looking in the flowers for a violet or a vine. For a book I did once, I put a simple black frame in and added a skeleton from a Halloween kit for an X-Ray. Good luck.

How about just putting an X on the page saying it is an alphabet letter followerd by YZ? Or tic tack toe with 3 x's in a row for winning?

X: xylophone (the only thing i figure would be easy for a little kid to recognise; X is hard)

maybe you could find one of these at home and take a picture of it yourself. that would make it really personal. hope this helps.

Hey, I just checked the forum this morning after I got up - thanks for all the great ideas! I'm off to go work on it now. I'll probably look for all of them, and use whatever element I can find that matches the "look" of my project. I can't wait to share the finished product with you!

Hi Joanne, I am FINALLY done (just finished) with the barrage of work that was piled on top of me this week therefore taking over my whole schedule. It's the down side to being a freelancer...sometimes there's nothing then all of sudden everyone needs something at exactly the same time. I've been living & breathing work for days (I just went to bed this morning at 5am). But when you've been working on a big project for months and something comes up you really have no choice but to dig in and get it done.
I'm catching up on forum posts now and I'll be posting the last lesson in the next couple of hours. My most SINCERE apologies for keeping everyone waiting, but like everyone I have bills to pay and work has to come first.
