Glue. Scissors. Mouse.
![]() Welcome to theStudio's Hybrid Artist CT Competition! You can find general rules & info here. | Week 1 Challenge | Hybrid Layout We're diving right into week one with a hybrid layout! | Week 1 Instructions | Create a 8x8in (or larger) hybrid layout as follows: 1. You may use any digital kit currently available in theStudio's Shop. If you want or need to purchase a kit, I would be happy to provide either a free mini kit or a 50% coupon for any kit or collection in my shop. However you do NOT have to use one of my products. 2. The digital portion of your project must include a minimum of one (1) paper, one (1) photo and one (1) creative use of typography (font). 3. SECRET INGREDIENT: The last instruction will be communicated via PM on Wed Sept 7 (or within 12 hours of your signup if you sign up on Sept 7 or 8 ). 4. Upload your completed project to the Hybrid Artist CT Competition Gallery no later than 10 Sept 11:59 PM. 5. You must list proper credit for ALL supplies used to complete your project. | Objectives | We're giving you a lot of free reign on this first challenge! We're looking for these important hybrid skills: 1. Demonstrate your ability to mix-n-match digital with physical supplies to create a beautiful, well planned layout. 2. Ability to photograph (or scan) your hybrid layout to show off its beauty. 3. Ability to follow instructions. Remember if you intend to participate you MUST sign up by 8 Sept 11:59 PM! Feel free to chat & share your projects in this thread!

I'm expecting Baby #3 to join our family some time in the next couple weeks, so if I'm in the hospital, I'm not sure how I'll get the "secret ingredient" part accomplished, but I'm game to try!!!

Just finished and uploaded mine. It's A4 size as my printer can't cope with anything larger than that. Also, the description of what I did misses out the fact that I made the photo frames from one of the papers in the kit. Is it possible to go back and edit this as I just can't see how/where I can do this (probably because I need to clean my glasses!)
Thanks again to Toiny for the beautiful kit "Early Morning Delight"

Okay I know I"m tired, and I'm headed to bed... but what exactly do you mean by "(1) creative use of typography (font)" do you mean doing something unexpected with a font? Or just using a creative font with the layout and having some fun with the fonts that can be installed on the computer?
Thanks for the clarification for this tired mind.... Rebecca |

Yes, something more unexpected than simply typing a line of text. I don't want to be too specific or set a lot of limits...

Thanks, I thought so but I wanted to make sure my tired mind wasn't making it harder than it should be.

Here is mine...I need help with how to present(photo/scan). I put 2 different views in the gallery, one showing a lot more shadows (taken in the sun). I used digital photo and background, printed font on border as well as printed out palm tree, birds and sun and cut them out. I used Glue Dots on the sun and border, glitter on the birds and sun. I cut out the palm leaves and layered them over a ribbon that I creased and added tiny buttons. I used beach glass on the corner of the border

I got mine done, and have scanned it into my husband's computer, but I can't figure out how to use the new program he got that's supposed to share our files...! It's almost midnight here, and I'm exhausted; I'm hoping you'll accept it if I get it in tomorrow morning my time (Ireland). If not, thanks anyway, I've learned alot from this project, even though I kept my ambitions minimal for my first try!
