Can we use silver or some other type of metal in our elements?

While metals specifically aren't excluded, they would need to match the palette. That is notoriously tricky to do. The answer is yes, but be very careful!

Question about my kit:
I did a kit for Design factor (elements only) that had basically this theme and slightly different colors. Can I do an extension of that kit/theme with new elements and papers that use the challenge palette and guidelines? Essentially, I'd just use the same name/theme with all new papers and elements. Thanks for a great challenge!

So I have a question: can we name the kit anything we want, not just Daybreak, as long as it goes with the theme? Like Dawn or Morning or something like that?

Oh wow... what a challenge! Pale colors are my downfall, I think they are the hardest to work with & maintain detail/texture... good luck ladies! I can't wait to see your entries!! This is so exciting!!
![]() Remember to use your levels adjustment when needed Toiny gave me that tip last year, it's invaluable for working with pale colors!

If you are blessed enough to already have things going for this kit, you may use it! The rules do not specify that it must be brandnew.

Yep. It's just the theme. Be as creative as you want with your name.

Do we have to have exactly 12 elements? I understand that we must have 12 unique items but if we wish to provide something with a variation of color are we allowed?

Another question, is an embossed paper (all one color) considered solid or patterned?

Go for it! As long as you have those 12 unique items...

I consider that solid. However, I'm open for debate on this one.

![]() In my opinion, embossed papers are solids... embossing, to me, is more like adding texture, rather than a pattern... it's a soft effect, I personally use them like solids...
