Thanks for answering this! I appreciate the help! I often use the eye-dropper tool in PSE to get my colors too.

(not for this challenge, I know, since we have a color swatch already, but for future needs )

I never thought about doing that, how clever! I might have to play with that. I can see using that to darken or mute a palette that's too bright without manually adjusting each color...a gray or black layer blended might just be the key! Thanks for sharing!

No, sadly you can't make them in PSE, but you can use them! I am a PSE user as well. I have one of my fellow designers helping me out and I will post the .aco file a little later today for those who prefer that.

I'm not sure how much difference it makes if I use the color picker tool and the image you posted - or if I have a aco-file? I'm almost done with my contribution for this challenge now. Need to do some finishing up, but now my son needs the puter for school work. (Can't let him do school work on his own puter, he'd just start playing games if I'd let him LOL)

Test it out, use the color picker and then double check that the hex code matches (it should). I like having my palette open while i design, I can put elements and papers next to it to check that it matches and isn't too far from the original color after layering and blending and such

I do this as well! Especially when working with the glitters yesterday, I wanted to be sure that I used the closest possible match.

you're welcome! i use both PSP & PSCS5 for design. i have to use hex codes for psp as the .aco files won't work for it. it's relatively the same in every program.

Another neat trick I use (if it hasn't been said yet), besides having the color swatch open. I make a locked layer underneath what I am designing and make the palette on it's own layer to make it easier to pick the colors.

What a great idea!! I usually have the swatch open but with so many windows open in the program, sometimes it is difficult to go to it quickly. I must remember to do this.
