NDC Round 1 Challenge: Moonrise

Vector=a mathematical equation. meaning it can change size with no loss of quality or pixelating. has another more specific definition but i just woke up LOL

great challenge and think i'm gonna go ahead a play but need a couple clarifications as everyone does things differently.

1. patterned paper-does this mean it MUST pe repetitive patterns or anything that is NOT a solid? and solids...do they need to be just a cardstock type paper or something with a light overlay ok?

2. CU itmes. it says credit as needed by TOU. if the TOU says no credit required do we need to credit it anyway or put CU's used or something?

3. i'm sure we can put these on our blog but guessing we should link it to the Sudio Gallery where the links are located?

Hi Jacque! Great to see you again. Thanks for the vector answer. That's my understanding as well, but I don't think my definition would have been as clear & easy.

As for your questions:

answer: I would love to see repetitive patterns and how you work with them. However, I mean anything that is NOT a solid.

answer: Yes. Regardless of the CU items TOU, you must credit all items used in this mini.

3. i'm sure we can put these on our blog but guessing we should link it to the Sudio Gallery where the links are located?
answer: Yes. You may blog away. However, please post the download links only on our gallery... at least during all of Round 1 (until September 9).

Glitter in the colors of the swatch is okay for use on elements, right? I have my mini all sketched out but don't want to start until I am sure.

An other vector program is Corel Draw. A vector is a path, stroke, line or point. You create shapes, curves, and lines with geometric formulas such as bezier curves. Think of it as a graph with one side called x and one y. Point A is two squares up and one over. Point B is five squares up and six over. Line A-B is from point A to point B. An enclosed space can be filled in with color. These programs, like Corel Draw, do the formulas for you. The things you make for them can be enlarged as much as you wish without any problem because they do not use pixels like a raster program. A couple of raster programs are Paint Shop Pro or PS or PSE. Vector programs have a somewhat high learning curve but are fun if you get to know them. Hope this helps.

Love the theme and colours. I'm a bit confused about the papers too though. I do understand the pattern papers, but solid? Translation gives me: sterk, robuust, ferm, so that doesn't really help me.
I think solids papers can be embossed, but what about papers like this?





I never seem to know what these are called. I do not see a real pattern, but they are not solid, like in one colour, they are just beautiful right?
Can you please help me out here?

The bottom two I would consider Textures - that top paper I would consider a pattern, even though the pattern is light, it's still patterned, to me anyway.... I wouldn't classify any of them as Solids, though....

Solid = eenkleurige

Of course, not completely one color. The trick is to get variation from texture without losing the consistency in color to still match the palette.

The papers you've listed are patterned.

Another credits question...do they have to be specific? Say I use a few different overlays from different designers on a paper ...do I need to credit the specific overlay name or just the designer?
