Septembers Challenge - Part One!

Hello everyone! I am getting this out a little early [ just a day or so! ] because I'm afraid I've got the crud! Or at least that's what my doctor calls it. I didn't want to miss out being on time - just ask my kids..I am such a punctual kind of person!

This is our first round of Photography challenge and depending on how this month goes, maybe I will do it more often. I personally love photography { even though I'm not the best! } so it just seemed like a fantastic idea to me. Hope you agree

To start us off this month I have decided to go with Color! I selected a wonderful action from The Coffee Shop Blog called Lustrous Pop. You can find this action here: http://www.thecoffeeshopblog.com/201...se-action.html

It's free to download and use! It comes in versions for Photoshop, PSE5-8 and if you can't run actions, she does write about her action which can help you recreate the effect! One of the best things about these actions [ the ones I have used so far ] is that they are easily customized and 100% user friendly!

For this challenge I went with a picture of my son. I used the action two times to show the various results you can get.



Now for your challenge:
Select a photo with a person as the main image - something that has been done recently - and make the color enhance. You do not have to use the action, I was just providing it to lend a digital hand!

When you are happy with your photo, load it to the Photography Challenge Gallery and leave a link here!

I LOVE photography and LOVE this challenge. Now l don't use actions because in the past they have messed up my PSE and I have had to get rid of them but there is certainly more than one way to enhance a photo!!! Looking forward to this challenge.

That is a super cool action. I'll use it alot, thanks. I decided to post the 'before' and 'after' of my grandson's sunburned face. The action made it pop so well.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with Nancy! If you need any help just say so! I know programs can be tricky when you're really trying to make it do what YOU want and it says no. They're mean that way lol

Hope you manage to beat the "crud" ... and LOVE the opportunity to play around with one of Rita's actions (The CoffeeShop Blog -- http://www.thecoffeeshopblog.com). If you are a BIG fan of Photoshop, following this blog is a must!!! I've learned things from here that was never covered in the multitude of Photoshop classes I've taken.

Enhancing the color of my son playing on the beach, well too bad he wore black at that time...
maybe red shorts will be more eye catching.

Had fun with this. Liked the Lustrous Pop action; however, wanted to sharpen the picture more, so also used 2 actions by Pioneer Women.

Well, I thought I'd take a chance and found an action, followed the path from C and dragged it over there. Then went to PSE and------couldn't find it!!! How do you find a new action. But I did find something called Unsharpen Mask, and this is what it did to my photo. Do I know what I'm doing???? Do pigs fly?????

MPC Actions has a fantastic tutorial on installing and troubleshooting actions in PSE. She explains how to fix your exact problem Nancy. You need to reset your mediadatabase.db3 file I hope this helps ♥
