Recipe Card Challenge Gallery
* * * * * * * Here are the instructions for this month's recipe card challenge/exchange: 1. Click HERE for this month's starter kit. The majority of your card(s) must be made with this kit to ensure all the cards “coordinate” with each other. Feel free to use additional CU items to enhance your cards (for example, brushes, actions, etc.). The starter kit will be free to those who used the prior month's starter kit to create and share at least one recipe card. 2. The general theme for this month's cards is your favorite recipe for when it’s cold outside ~ the post below this one includes more information. Be creative and have fun designing your cards! If you need a specific metal tag and don't have it from a previous kit, send me an e-mail and I'll make it for you. 3. Create your original card at 6" wide X 4" tall (1800 and 1200 pixels) and save it as a 300 ppi jpeg, quality between 8 to 10. These are the print-quality cards that will be shared with all participants. You will also need to resize your card at 72 ppi to post in the gallery. WHEN FINISHED with your card(s), do the following 3 things: 1. E-mail your print-quality, 300 ppi recipe card to LetMeScrapbook@hotmail.com so it can be included in the download file at the end of the month. Do not share your print-quality card on your blogs or through any other means without my prior approval. Several participants have also asked for blank copies of the cards you design, so if you're willing to send me both (with and without the words), that would be great! 2. Upload a picture of your 72 ppi card to the Recipe Card Challenge Gallery. Please upload only your actual recipe card ~ not the blank cards. You may also post a copy of your 72 ppi (web version) on your blog if you’d like, and then include a link to the forum in case others are interested and want to participate. 3. Post a message here in this forum thread with a link to your gallery card no later than January 31. At the end of the month, all participants will receive a link to download all the cards created that month. Bon appétit!!

Original Message: Hi, friends. I need your help! The starter kit is almost finished, but I can't decide what our focus area/metal tags should be. It's freezing cold in my neck of the woods, and this cute little element gives you a "sneak peak" of the kit and an idea of the colors. So -- what are your ideas/suggestions? Soups? Freezer meals? Comfort foods? Hot dishes or drinks? We've done most of these in the past, but it's been awhile and I'm game for repeats! Leave your suggestions below if you have any -- otherwise, you're stuck with my decision! Kit will be finished and in the store by Friday...
* * * * * * * * * UPDATE: Decision made ~ this month’s focus will be foods we like when it’s cold outside: soup, chili, stew, “crock pot” or slow cooker meals, hot drinks, etc. Thanks for all your input; I’ll hang onto the other ideas shared and consider them for future months. I can’t wait to see the recipes you share and the cute cards you make! IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT SHARING YOUR CARDS: As a general rule, I will share the print-quality version (300 ppi) of the cards you create for this challenge with the other participants; they are not to be given away/shared via a download link on your blogs or through any other means. Feel free to post a picture of the web version (72 ppi) of your card on your blog. If you want, you can also include a link to the forum so others can join in and participate. Please let me know if you have any questions about this explanation or my Terms Of Use (TOU) document.

I like the idea of a freezer meal kit, but only because I need some new ideas. The kit preview says "soups" to me.

What about "Winter Food"? The dishes you prefer when it's cold outside; as opposed to salads and chilled food which you like in the summer...
PS: That snowman is adorable

This is really for
December, but for some reason I never got it uploaded. http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...aimo-bars.html As far as what the focus should be this month, how about soups, cocoa, hot drinks or whatever we love to eat when it is cold outside.

I vote for freezer meals! Snowmen and the colors you've chosen make me think of the freezer. Can't wait to see the entire kit!

I'd like soups or stews, or maybe one-dish hot meals/slow cooker meals.
I know those who live in the north think I'm wimpy, but it really is below freezing today and I think my heater's gone out. It seems to be blowing cool air (oh, if only it were August when that would be helpful.) I'm about to make a stew myself. Mmmm...stew.... |

Thanks so much for all the feedback -- looks like we're all thinking along the same lines! I'll get this kit wrapped up and in the store shortly, and then send coupon codes to all eligible December participants. Can't wait to see those cards start rolling in! : )

That cute snowman says 'Baby it's cold outside' to me so I think it will have to be soups and stews, casseroles, anything to warm us up.
Here in my part of England it is reasonably warm for this time of the year and it has actually stopped raining, although it is still grey and gloomy.
