I love this beef and barley stew. My mom always made it and when I asked her for the recipe, this is all she gave me. She just added however many veggies she wanted! Gotta love those recipes stuck in the head!

Hey, everyone. Sorry I've been away the past couple weeks. I've been working hard on a collaboration kit with Karen, Snickerdoodle Designs, for our featured designer spot here at theStudio starting February 1. I can't wait to show it off! I'll probably make our February starter kit to match it.

Here are the recipe cards I came up with using this months fantastic kit!
These are all soups we love to have when it's cold outside. I will email the blank cards as well as the Photoshop (CS4) layered template file -- including drop shadows.

Thanks for the Fun Wintery Kit!
I am sharing an Index Card and a Simple Mocha Recipe.
The snowballs were fun to warp around!
It was Very entertaining to play with blending modes and my snow picture to make this months background. Of course there is a CU item tucked into my card again this month. Deep in my winter stash was a Sled Template by EllenM Creations. What Fun playing with Atomic Cupcake actions to give the sled character.
Thanks again for this recipe challenge that brings about Pure Creative Play in many ways.

Thank you but I have been making these off n on since 2010 and never was told other wise, ill try making it half the size next month.. they are only this huge when i upload via tinypic... any where else i share them they never look giant.

When I was 10 yrs old I started making Fried Biscuit Balls. I didn’t know what they were called; but since I made biscuit dough and shaped them into balls the name seemed right. I didn’t have a book. I was 14 when my Aunt Opal gave me the Westinghouse Cook Book that was 1955. This book called them French-Fried Biscuits. I still call them Balls and I still have my much worn Westinghouse Cook Book. These are fast and easy; plus who doesn’t have a can of biscuits in the refrigerator. So if you need comfort food on a cold winter’s night; I can’t think of anything faster or easier than Fried Biscuit Balls. They are YUMMY.
