Default No description in gallery possible

Hi girls,

I really need your help. I posted my first LOA page yesterday (http://www.digitalscrapbookingstudio...breakfast.html)
but I cannot give any credits WITH a LINK there. Everything I wrote in the description field disapears by submitting my page or at last the editings.

After deleting the URL tags you can see at least the written credits without link. Can you help me?

Hi kpmelly, we came across this with another layout today and it ended up being possibly the length of the url.
to correct it we managed to put it in as a bitly link.

I can try and do that for you and see if it fixes it for you.

Yay that seems to have fixed it.
so I think maybe it's the super long url, you can change it to a shorter url at
https://bitly.com/shorten/

Hope it's OK to chime in here. I don't use the bit.ly. Instead I use codes. The gallery, like the forum, allows the use of UBB code. I could try to explain, but there's a better explaination here: URL Hyperlinking. Another site is here. It's simple and easy to use and does away with the long URLs.

Linda, I love that you chimed in! Thank you for sharing how to use UBB code. It can be tricky the first time or two, but before you know it's old hat.

Mhhh... I always use the Code at gallery, that is not my problem. Think itīs really the url-length here at DSS.

LOL - I have added VBA code to my spreadsheet so it actually generates the code for me when I do uploads. Once a computer programmer, always a computer programmer - LOL!!! If I had to do it manually now, I think I would be hard pressed to accomplish it :-)

Barb, can you post your description and link here in this thread. I'll see if I can then get it in the gallery for you. As you are aware we are having a problem with this, but I'll try and see if I have any luck.

I'm also finding that the gallery description box won't accept too much text. I just got Barb's link in, but with a smaller amount of text than she had submitted.
