Default Downloading FB Freebies

For the past two days I have been unable to download new FB freebies from designer/store pages. I don't see anyone else asking about this so I'm thinking that somehow something was changed in my account? Or is FB playing again with business accounts.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,
Rose

Hi Rose!

I haven't had any issues recently, but I'm always plagued with problems on Facebook! Sometimes, if there is a ton of traffic, things don't load right on the site and features don't work. It's a real pain!

What I always try first is closing my browser and opening back up again.... if that doesn't work, clear out your cache and/or cookies and try again. If THAT doesn't work, you can try a restart of your computer. And if nothing is working, you kinda just have to wait it out.... sorry!

Rose, facebook just made changes on our business page. I'm still trying to sort it. It is driving me nuts these constant changes. Wait a day or two & try again?

I have discovered that Firefox is blocking many of the downloads. I had a recent upgrade and they must have added something (like many of these software packages do - ie, adding toolbars) in the upgrade. Now I have to get my hubby to get in there and find out what has to be "undo'd" - Thanks ladies for your replies.

Ugh! The dreaded FF updates! I've learned my lesson with those... their updates are NEVER stable when they first release them! I always wait at least 3 months, if not longer, for them to work the bugs out Glad you figured out what the problem was, though! Should be an easy enough fix once you find what needs to be undone!

Additionally, one of the Facebook Apps (MyTab) which many designers use to host their Facebook Freebies is 'dropping' customers (so they can then charge them for the same service). This is happening without warning to the designers/pages and until it's pointed out to a designer, they may not even know!

HTH!

Didn't I hear there is somewhere else that is becoming just as popular as Facebook that people are switching over to? Wish I could remember the name.

I have tried so many time to get the freebies on Face Book. Now just gave up and bypass them. I miss out, but save on frustration.

I use Firefox and have noticed this too. Not sure why, but some freebies can be "clicked" as in the past. If that doesn't work, I use CTRL+click and that will bring up a new tab and has always downloaded for me. Like I said why some need the CTRL and others don't, I have no clue. Try this and let us know if it works for you too.

I haven't updated to the latest Firefox version yet, I always hate to update, something ALWAYS goes wrong and it usually takes them two or more fixes to get it right. So I just wait until it's "right" before updating - I hate being a guinea pig!

That's good to know. I waited a bit too Kim before I updated Firefox. And FB - don't even get me started! I might go back to using my blog a bit more - or at least putting the Freebies there and promoting on FB. It shouldn't be such a hassle - especially for our members!

KimberKatt- I am the same way as you. I HATE the updates when they first come out. My husband had his automatically updated and it took me awhile to get it back to the settings he had..... I don't allow the auto updates for that reason

Try another browser. Safari works for me for freebies, Firefox doesn't.

I use Firefox and yes, the downloads on Facebook are blocked. However, up near the address bar there is a shied icon. If you click it, there is a drop down menu that says keep blocking. If you click the drop down arrow next to that you will see a disable protection on this page. Click that and you should be able to download. You will need to do this on each page, but from what I can tell, once it is disabled on that page, you shouldn't have to do that again.
